Benilde vs. Spring Lake Park

A friend at the game said that they are tied 1-1 in the third period. Can someone post a final score please?

Believe me, if someone knew it would've been posted. Come on SLP! More upsets!

A monster upset could be what the Panthers need to turn their season around. Lots of bad losses could be redeemed with one MONSTROUS win!

Bound to happen to the best of teams. Congrats to SLP for this win. They may have this win to thank for a boosted section playoff seeding.

Brandon Jones Show

Post by F14 »

Brandon had 45 saves on 46 saves.

They were outshot by nearly 30 including 21-5 in the third.

Sometimes a goalie makes all the difference in the world in a team sport.

I may be wrong, but it might be BSM's first LOSS ever in 6 years in the North Suburban.

They lost to Totino back in 09 I believe, back when the Eagles had Delisle.

I know they lost in 06 & 07 to Totino as well. With that said, quite the shocker here. Goaltending is the key towards the end of the season. Probably a good wake up call for BSM.

So much for the talk of BSM being #1.

bsm is over rated if they cant beat spring lake park. embarrising for pauly and his players..shoulda won 10-0. for how easy bsm's schedule is they should be 23-2.

Granted their schedule doesn't compare to EP or the Lake conference teams, but it isn't that bad. Wins over HM, Tonka, Maple Grove, AHA, and Moorhead are pretty impressive. This loss probably drops them down to between 4 - 7 in the rankings.

I agree on all aspects of your statement, Body.

Disappointing loss if you're a Red Knights fan, but a nice win for the Panthers. Seems like Hill-Murray is the only team that can play consistently in AA.

People, the shots were 46-13. Congrats to the #1 star, Spring Lake Park goalie, Brandon Jones.

Great win for SPLP. They have a couple talented forwards (2 elite league players) but as a team really never put it together until last night. SPLP had a game plan and stuck to it and got a career game from their goaltender. We will see how BSM reacts tomorrow night against Shattuck. It also shows you cannot just show up for the game you need to be preapred each and every night no matter who you are playing.

Glade to see that he got this out of his system before sections.

Standard excuse for an inexcusable loss. First pump up the crappy team and praise the average goalie. Then say why said crappy team is way better than everyone thinks, and finally pretend like they have a chance against an actual good team (SSM won 3-1).
Here's a more plausible explanation: BSM plays crappy teams all year and really isn't that good. We saw this in their EP game.

  I agree with you on the excuses that have been dished out by minnscout. The truth is that Benilde is a decent team but the goaltending simply isn't there.
