Hockey Hub Stat accuracy

It's unfortunate that the high schools went with Hockey Hub. Pointstreak is a much more user-friendly platform (I do live scoring at NAHL games and am familiar w/ both). I think one of the intended benefits of the Hub was to have more real-time information out there, but when you have to go through some of the processes, people aren't using it as intended. Pointstreak allows live scoring including adding shots in about 1 second (3 clicks). If you Hockey Hub designers are out there, adjust your product to make it work better on the fly!! We all will see the benefits. . . I can tell you it certainly is nice to stay up on games in progress. Check it out some time when both HS and NAHL are going on and see which system is more functional!

I doubt the NAHL has girlfriends and dads keeping track of shots, hits etc.... If someone needs to look at stats to tell who the better players are they are probably still confused about what offside is. NAHL also doesn't have dad coaches sending their kids out for the power play when they are up 10-0. Stats can be fun to look at but they should always be held in the right context.dueling21 wrote:The NAHL's couple of dozen clubs more than likely has staff entering live information, whereas the Hub is relying on volunteers that include high school managers and such...not to mention it's coming from 150+ different teams. It's like comparing apples and oranges in my book.
The same people at our school do the NAHL and the HS games. They do both live and Pointstreak is a much easier system than the Hub. Most NAHL clubs are shoestring operations, the off-ice officials (announcer, scorekeeper, timekeeper, etc) are volunteers, whereas those working as announcer/scorer and timekeeper for HS are paid. Draw your own conclusion.dueling21 wrote:The NAHL's couple of dozen clubs more than likely has staff entering live information, whereas the Hub is relying on volunteers that include high school managers and such...not to mention it's coming from 150+ different teams. I don't care how, I just wish it would get more accurate! The more I check, the more inaccurate stats I see. Got a chuckle when I saw Warroad beat Roseau yet the Roseau Backup goalie (who it didn't appear to get in the game) was given credit for the WIN, while the Warroad back up goalie (who also shows zero minutes) was given a LOSS. um..... just a reminder - the Warriors won.

Sounds like a computer glitch...bbad wrote:I don't care how, I just wish it would get more accurate! The more I check, the more inaccurate stats I see. I'm guessing more like a human glitch........dueling21 wrote:Sounds like a computer glitch...bbad wrote:I don't care how, I just wish it would get more accurate! Re: Stats
That may be true but at the arena during the game many shots can happen within seconds. Its tough to count all of those. Sometimes I think they count shots that are blocked or hit the side of the net.woodley wrote:Skipper - A shot on goal doesn't require judgement. Per the off ice officials rule book a shot on goal is anytime a puck is directed by an opposing player and would go in for a goal but for the goalie stopping it. So the 185 foot intended icing that goes on goal and is stopped is a shot on goal. After a rebound when the puck is sitting in front of the leg pad and there are 3 wacks at it that cause it to go back onto the leg pad, there is a total of 4 shots.Skip_per wrote:A shot on goal is something that requires some judgement.
Now, I understand that most scorers and stats people don't give these as shots, but, per the rule, they should.
At the wayzata Moorhead game the scoreboard said 51 shots but the hub said 37.
