Late Season Mr. Hockey Picks

Post by fivehole628 »

As seen on Hockey Hub (and with a little renovation of my own), who is your pick as of today for Mr. Hockey?

Western College Hockey Blog had listed 10 potential Mr Hockey candidates earlier, and then then added 10 more. I think this is a more inclusive list to start with. I bolded my choices based on HS season, elite performance and strength of schedule.

1.Kyle Rau, Forward, Eden Prairie, 18GP 21G 27 A 48P
2. Max Everson, Defenseman, Edina, 18GP 4G 14A 18P
3. Tony Cameranesi, Forward, Wayzata, 19GP 14G 27A 41P
4. Garrett Hendrickson, Forward, Virginia, 21GP 26G 37A 63P
5. Joseph LaBate, Forward, Holy Angels, 19GP 20G 15A 35P
6. Tyler Heinonen, Forward, Delano, 19GP 38G 31A 69P
7. AJ Reid, Forward, St. Thomas Academy, 16GP 12G 17A 29P
8. Derek Frawley, Forward, Minnetonka, 16GP 3G 12A 15P Left HS
9. Ryan Jaremko, Defenseman, Elk River, 19GP 4G 22A 26P
10. Ben Bahe, Forward, Hill-Murray, 18GP 21G 16A 37P

1. Steven Fogarty, Forward, Edina, 16GP 16G 16A 32P
2. Michael Dockry, Forward, Burnsville, 19GP 24G 23A 47P
3. Patrick Daly, Def, Ben-St. Margaret's, 17GP 3G 26A 29P
4. Nick Stoskopf, Forward, Warroad, 20GP 10G 26A 29P
5. Tim Bonner, Forward, Osseo, 18 GP 23G 21A 44GP
6. Ville Rantanen, Forward, Mankato West, 20GP 42G 25A 67P
7. Brandon Wahlin, Forward, White Bear Lake, 18GP 21G 14A 35P
8. Garrett Skrbich, Forward, Hermantown, 19GP 26G 19A 45P

Jorde ranum has been the best 2nd line senior I've seen all year. Why hasn't his name come up?

Because there are at least 20 players more worthy to mention...

Yes I think most would agree that Frawley will not be "rewarded" this year.

Nick turbitt is a solid player but has nobody on the team to help out for spring lake park. He was also apart of the elite league he's pretty much all slp has.

Josh Archibald would be my pick. Exciting player to watch! How come you have him in bold for your top picks, but not on your voting list?

Does anyone who is not a Gopher recruit really have a chance?

Patrick Moore from Grand Rapids is having a good year with 42 points. May not be a Mr. Hockey finalist, but he has been in the top 10 in points (AA) most of the season. No D1 offers that I'm aware of, but I'm sure he'll be heading to the USHL, with some good potential.

He has 37 points and is +9 for a bad spring lake park team.

I didn't realize he was a senior, Hockey Hub says he's a junior so I didn't put his name down on the poll.

Means little in college hockey. Still seems to mean something when it comes to Mr. Hockey.
