One comment counts as "running their mouths" 'eh? Interesting. So it's OK for the old-hockey folks to do it? This is why I have stayed quiet for so long...and will continue...
Love ya Oldgoalie 85...was looking forward to chatting with you but this young goalie Mom can't take the heat...

Wow..the cat's out of the bag that quickly huh? Guess I should have held my tongue a little bit longer...and yes I know Tonka and Burnsville are D6...I was talking about Sartell..Now where's that comment that guy made about Rosemount beating us 10 out of 10 times....
BTW...don't think I don't know what a fantastic D we have...makes my life a lot easier...and that's no joke.
Actually it makes your SON's life easier, maybe your confusing your life with your sons
Saw them play little while ago and they are very good. Congrats to THEM.
For the record..it makes both of our lives easier...no matter how awesome the team is - it is the goalie who feels the brunt of a loss - and I've been in the car with that kid a few times too. Not fun. Both our lives...
In my expierence, the kids forget about it once they get home and start doing something else--pretty short memories. Parents hang onto it alittle longer.
if your kid is feeling the brunt of a loss--the coaches need to do a better job of letting him and the rest of the team know that you win & lose as a team.
First, are you saying that Smalltownbiggerstick is just coincidentally very similar to Smalltownbigstick?
Second, is Smalltownbiggerstick a Farmington goalie mom, or is THEGoalieMom a Farmington goalie mom, or are you both Farmington goalie moms that just coincidentally chose today for your first posts.
Third, I'm not telling you to quit running your mouth. On the contrary, I love when the cake eaters get a little smackdown from the hicks.

I saw that too ... makes it quite funny and maybe a little embarrassing for THE goalie mom/THE big, bigger, biggest stick
But I do agree I like to see the smaller town do well.

I also always love the little guy, but after a 5 second conversation with the aforementioned person above and it's easy to root against them.
She was meant to live in Edina, just needs to take the bib overalls off, get a lift and slap on some green lipstick and she would fit right in.

hockeygirl2 wrote:On the scores, I have a question. how do the lets play hockey rankings work? there are teams ranked that haven't even won a game in their league. chaska and chanhassen have no wins and 5 losses in their league. they lost to shakopee and jefferson and I think they were beat 2x by white bear lake in duluth. But they are ranked. How? I don't mean to pick on chaska, i'm sure there are other teams like that too. I just don't know how the rankings work.
It's based on math. I don't know math, but I trust it more than I do anonymous hacks on the net.
It looks to me that myhockey ranking is based a lot on how many goals you score on a team
Isn't it more like how many goals a team scores vs. how many they allow? Plus they factor in the "weight" of their schedule? Isn't that it??Anyone...anyone...Bueller??

Myhockey ranking seems to be based on goal difference (3:0 and 6:3 would give you the same point, offset by the rating from your opponent). For example your team plays a team with a rating of 10.00, and your team won by 3 goals (regardless 3:0 or 6:3), your point of this game will be 10.00+3=13.00. If your rating was 11.50, your +/- point from the above game will be 13-11.50 = 1.50. The weekly ranking is the average of the points per game played so far. In a nutshell, if you play against a team with +3 ranking, expect to loss by 3 goals, is the assumption.
If Farmington plays Albert Lee (Siberian Tiger vs. Bengal Tiger) today, Siberian tiger is expected to win by 18.13-3.95 = 14.18, or 14+ goals!

Myhockey is great (IMHO). LPH is more a bunch of rubes doing their best to rank the teams. Basically volunteers who see alot of games & hear alot about the games. Then they toss out who they think should be ranked where. Myhockey is more scientific & LPH mor human.
