Guess you can't fault a Lumberjack fan for trying (lol) - you missed:

Buffalo at Moorhead

Apple Valley 1
Duluth East 0

After 1

Not a very good period for East. They came out flying but the D got caught too deep, and AV sprung Goodman for a breakaway goal and the lead. After that AV's forecheck did a nice job slowing down the East breakouts and disrupting the passing game. Miers Moore also sat out the period and his absence hurt, but he should be back for the 2nd.

East looks flat and dull. AV is imposing its will.

Tough to come back and play a quality team like AV after a very big emotinal win over EP.

Yeah. In the rankings I mentioned this was a potential trap game, and oh, was it ever. AV's ranking may not show it, but they are a dangerous team with a lot to prove, and they're responding tonight. It'll be interesting to see if they can keep this up for the rest of the season.

Still one more period though...

10-something to go in the 3rd.

AV calls timeout.

Hill up 2-0 on AHA after 1

Holler and Lavalle have a goal and assist each.

Shots are 5-3 Hill.

HM dominating play except for the extended AHA PP toward the end of the period.

Grand Rapids 4
Cloquet 3

Final

GR scored 3 in the 3rd to pull this one out, and in all likelihood cinched the 2nd seed in 7AA. Still, this one is a big warning sign to the rest of the section--once again, Esse has his group playing much better hockey in the 2nd half of the season, and they'll be able to beat anyone come sections. Looks like Kuhlman had a big night for the Jacks.
