funny I just talked to the official that did the game and he said he never entered the locker room to talk to coaches or players. So where are you getting your false information?

You are right about one thing what is done is done.
From the Roseau tournament directors.

P.S. there is more than just one official.

Thanks and have a nice day.
your to funny when I said I talked to the official did thegame I meant it so get your info right. and the is only one ref in the 1 2 system so I'd have to say your wrong because that is the system that was being used in this game.
Two Things:

1st - Learn how to type.
2nd - The Ref (your boom boom) didn't go into the locker rooms, that still leaves the 2 Linesman.

I don't know if it's been posted here or not, but this may be part of the reason why Edina decided to 'cop-out' early in their final game of the tournament.

Apparently during one of Edina's earlier games, one of their players gave the referee the 'finger,' which led to that player getting ejected from the game (I don't know if he was suspended for any others in the tourney). That night, most of the Edina parents went to Gene's bar & grill.. and from what I heard, they proceeded to start raising a commotion about the incident I just noted.. which led to all of the parents being kicked out of the bar that night.

So I'm assuming that the Edina coach was already peeved about the previous ejection, which may have played into his decision to have his team 'walk-out' in the midst of their final game... even though the thought of doing so, as many here have commented, is completely ridiculous & unfair to everyone involved in the game & tournament.

But yeah, a silly situation to say the least.

Also, I don't get why people here bother to call other posters out on their usage of grammar & spelling.. when they themselves are making mistakes in their own posts.

Kind of seems like we're beating a dead horse here. I like to see Edina lose as much as the next guy, but let's take a deep breathe. From what I've heard edina's head coach has a great reputation. I'm sure he is dealing with the issue as best he can. Whether right or wrong it is a coach's responsibility to make the best decision, in their minds, for their team. I'm sure we could "come up with" hundreds of more stories of how awful edina's behavior was last weekend. Unless someone saw these things first hand I think
It's time to move on. If anything we are further disrespecting Roseau by taking away from their tournament and great hockey community by putting all this focus on Edina. Just my thoughts.

Staying at the same hotel as them doesn't make it mutually exclusive to the finger and Gene's incidents ... unless you stayed at the Holiday in Express and it makes you an expert :)

He also has a responsibility to Edina youth hockey association, teams they play and tournaments hosts.

Roseau does run a great tournament, all the more reason quiting 3rd place game is sad.

forreal I couldn't agree with you more.

Unfortunately a great tournament, organized and hosted extremely well by the folks in Roseau may be remembered because of the decision made by 1 or 2 people and not for the great hockey that was played and the fun and memories those of us who were there will take away.

Congrats to EP for winning and to all the teams who participated and to the people of Roseau for hosting another great tournament.

Maybe the Edina association should use some of those high gate fees to pay back the Blaine folks for their shortened tournament experience..........

Gate fee at the least

Can we please stop stroking Roseau here like they have cornered the market on how to run a tournament? Things weren't all peaches and cream up there.

I do know for a fact that one of the Sunday games, which they forced the teams to head on down the road to Theif River Falls to play, had no refs show up. Both teams were there, after the hour drive, waiting and waiting but referees never appeared. Game cancelled, teams headed for home. Repeated calls to even try and locate a tournament official were unsuccessful.

The one saving grace I suppose is Theif River is kinda on the way home for the metro teams.

Jolt - dang that stinks, yeah i think every tournament has their flaws.

One thing you do have to remember about the Edina tourny is they hosted 60 teams....and from what I can tell didn't really have any issues with any of the games/refs etc. Only thing people complained about is the price of ticket...IMHO thats a pretty succesful tournament considering there could have been much worse things happen....ie no refs show, fights, serious injuries etc.

as always though i'm sure there are some that will say otherwise.

thats why they send teams down the road to trf. its gets you closer to home and gets everyone playing by 1 o clock on sunday. roseau bantams played two tourneys in the cities this year ep tourney our last game was at 630 sunday night and edina was worse yet. people didnt get home until 4 a.m. im sure arrangements were made with trf to supply refs and something went wrong thats too bad sorry to hear that happend also i had trouble myself getting ahold of people in charge of this tourney which is something that may have to be talked about at a youth hockey meeting to figure out a way for someone to always be avaliable.

Referee director for Roseau is a very close relative. All referees were scheduled by him and reports for all incidents involving penalty > a minor have been done. He has game sheets and interviews with referees and linesman and scorekeepers for all Edina games. No one in black and white stripes went into either locker room. Is this clear enough for you?
By now, there is alot of speculation about what happened involving Edina. Some of the posts are true and some are just rumor.

Unsure of the reason, but a small group was nicely asked to leave Gene's Bar and Grill over the weekend.

Blaine would have had to "accept" the forfeit or...

this might have been a match penalty for the Edina coach? "refusal to start play" is a match penalty, for which for a coach carries a penalty of "suspension until a dicsiplinary hearing is held"

hmmm.

I think survey's posts outs your's as your info is coming from the same director that was supposed to schedule refs for the games down in TRF.

Whaaat happppened there?????

About the ref situation in TRF:

TRF agreed to provide the refs for that Sunday game. Not sure what happened; somewhere, the ball was dropped.

Many games have been played in TRF for other tournaments and this hasn't happened before, so Roseau had no reason to think there would be a problem.

It's unfortunate.

TRF has their own ref director and schedules games in TRF. Roseau refs work only games played in Roseau. Would you like the name and number for TRF Ref director????? I guess I would have to be a man to be as smart as Survey??

Can we all agree this whole post should fade away now? (yawn)
*Something happened in the Edina/Blaine game
*Noone "official" is/has commented (any Blaine or Edina parents want to weigh in that were at game??)
*The only people talking aboot it are us non Edina/Blaine folks...(yes I said aboot)
*It's over
*Roseau has the peewee 'A' tournament next weekend (21-23rd) which should be good as well
*Does anyone (me included) care anymore at this point?
