Computer on TV?

This is obviously a tech question, but something that will help a lot of us out I'm sure.

I know there is a way to get what is on your PC to get on your computer. With the streaming of so many games out there (watching EP/BSM by myFOXhockey on hockey hub now), it would be great to get these on my TV.

Does anyone know what cords, etc you need to make this happen?

Depending on the age of your computer and TV, older systems need a S-video plug and that should adapt to just your regular RCA cords. For audio, you need a cable that on one end should plug into your audio out jack on your computer and the other end are the red and white audio jacks of an RCA cable like a stereo system uses.

If you system is newer, for video you need an HDMI cable and the same audio adapter as above.

I have a laptop that I can connect to the "big screen" with a S-Video cord. The sound, unfortunitely, has to come through the laptop speakers, but is better than nothing.

The quality of the picture really depends on the quality of the camera being used. I have watched mostly BSU Hockey games online, and some places only use the "coach's camera", which leaves a lot to be desired and the picture is really grainy. BSU broadcasts their TV feed out over the net, which is much better.

So if I have a new HD tv, I would need a cable with HDMI on one end and USB on the other?

You can use either a DVI or DVI to HDMI. Go to Best Buy and they will give you the correct cords.
