You can through them all in a hat right now. I think this section will come down to who has the best goaltending and can keep healthy...
This coming week will tell a lot....

Fergus Falls at Little Falls tonight, that is the big game for this week.

Why are people ranking Willmar so high in this section?

Section seems to be very even this year.
I expect a very exciting section tournament
Alex loses to Willmar in the 4-5 matchup. top 3 seeds
advance over nobody
Semis will be 1) Little falls vs 5) Willmar
2) Fergus Falls 3) Sartell
The falls will play for the section final
Picking the flyers get back to state but the otters
will be very close.

Tomarrow is big:

Sartell at Fergus Falls

Little Falls at Alexandria

Stuff may start to head in a direction after tomarrow night, but it likely will just get more muddy. I don't know if I can pick either game. You got the last two section champs playing at the Runestone, and a nice budding rivalry at the Fair Grounds arena. I don't think anyone is standing out yet, though it is early, way to early. The favorites coming in would have to be Sartell. Little Falls has shown that it very likely will remain at least in the hunt this year. Alexandria gets the benefit in that it is the defending champs. Fergus Falls is showing some life, but has to prove it's consistency.
In any case it will be an exciting season, and nice tournement.
Does anyone think any of these four will have anything to say in the CLC?
I have wondered, but I would think that all eyes have to be on Brainerd and St. Cloud Tech at this point.

I would pick tech over brainerd. They are a better coached team.

Good assessment. I think the teams will just beat each other up and there may not be a clear favorite all the way up until sections. It should be a great tournament.

Sartell 4
Fergus Falls 3 OT

Sartell scored two quick goals to go up 2-0. Fergus Falls dominated from 2nd period to about 1 minute left to go. Fergus led 3-2 untill with 14 seconds Sartell ties the game and won in OT.
Shots on goal were in the neighborhood of FF 34 Sartell 25.
Good tight game.

Little Falls 3-2 over Alex in OT. LF scored with 20 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and then scored with 24 seconds left in OT to win. LF had much better forwards than Alex. Alex D (a couple of them) were pretty good and their goalie was solid - except for the tying goal imo. Kind of a sloppy game but it was entertaining in the latter part of the third.

LF came away with a lot of injuries in this one. One possible knee injury to Fenske, shoulder for Dougherty, and H. Hanowski unkown (concussion???), Nelson (unkown). LF could be short for awhile. Hopefully the Fenske injury isn't season ending.

And that right there is the way this season is going to be evidently. Make that a very competitive Section 6a AND a nice race in the CLC.

I agree this section is wide open however I think Little Falls made a strong case to be the definite favorites after a real impressive week at the Granite City Classic.

I think Little Falls is coming into the second half well rested and playing some great hockey should be interesting how they end up and fergus is a team you need to watch out for as well

Heard that some Fergus Players got caught drinking. Not sure what the truth to it is, but that could be very significant to their season, that's if there is any truth to the story.

Everyone has played about half or a little over half their games. What are you guys thinking it looks like at the halfway point?

I don't think that LF is better than FF or Sartell. I think any of them can come out. Even alex with Murphy has a chance if he gets hot.

Health and goaltending......
