i'm a current player and have been on both sides of this. when it's the losing side do you think i care if i lose by say 12 or 15? not really..either way it's a blowout. but i do care that you don't respect me enough to continue playing your top line or even shoot at the net. that's humiliating.

Everyone has made fair points here, whether for or against 'mercy methods'. But honestly, to us as a team it didn't really matter whether they played their best players or worst players or played keep-away or didn't. Obviously we knew the game was lost and we just played the game for us and just focused on getting our mechanics and strategy down. As a team we are over the score and were not sour about who played or scored or whatever in the 2nd and 3rd periods. All in all, it's actually a pretty good thing for us to start out against a team as good as that because now we can go into our next few games (Waseca, Windom, and LSP) and the speed and skill that Holy Family possessed won't be at nearly as high a level. And since we have seen that level of play, we will be much more successful with things that we struggled on last night, like breaking out clean and getting quality shots on goal. My point of this is that for as big of a deal that is being made out of this, it's just one game, and it should help us in the near future. We just want to play hockey.

haha, you really hate WBL don't you? You even think I'm from there :P

I guess if I was from Stillwater I would be angry as well
Just hate their arrogance, 17 time choke artists doesn't give them much more to brag about.

Botch#3, I commend you for saying you and your teammates would have never given up or thrown in the towel. That shows class. Myself as a former player/coach/parent do not have a problem with the score or when this happens. What comes around goes around. I just posted due to a fan or player from a team that just beat someone 11-0 mocking another for running up the score, kind of hippocritical. Dont you think? I think there was a method behind his madness as there was a few other games with lopsided scores that weren't mentioned according to his own words of "I will post every 15+ margin this year" but 11 is okay??

They tried but were unsuccessful in the end. The young Holy Family squad makes a nice comeback down 6-2 to win 7-6 in OT. Great Game for us fans!!

Typical Holy Family to run up the score on people. They did it in football too to make them look better. Its ok---they'll maybe get to the state tourney posting seemingly big wins--then probably get their asses handed to them by Lourdes as they did in football
