It is known for the last 10 - 12 years that Trebil does not play many games prior to the new year. He uses the time to get his lines in order and work on getting the team to play "as a team". He does this and it works for him.
One problem that AHA has is their conference is weak, compared to them, the conference is good for all the teams except them.
AHA has a pretty good non-conference schedule that gets them ready for the post season. Games of note are:
12-18 at Roseau
12-23 at Elk River
12-29 against Burnsville in the Scwans
01-07 Edina at Richfield
01-15 at Minnetonka
01-18 Hill Murray at Richfield
01-20 at Eden Prairie
01-29 Benilde at Richfield
02-09 Shattuck at Richfield.

Wow, just realized they are the last team to play their first game by more than a week!

I disagree, not mediocre. They have played hard in all three games. Good goaltending in the game against Chanhassen, close game in Roseau and left to many on the doorstep in Elk River. They have only played three games and will get some good wins along the way. Just wait and see.

Hope that is the case, based off what they have done thus far they need to pull it together as I stated "will have to see" a good showing at schwans cup is a step in the right direction.

What I'm curious to know, for anyone that does know, is why they have limited their traveling/playing teams from other states. I agree that what they have done this year will definitely help with section seeding (adding Burnsville), help them get ranked/respected more during the season and probably prepare them better for state if they make it, but this is such a cool MN/USA thing they do every season. This year they are just playing Shattuck.

Last year they went to Boston Catholic Memorial, why not play them at home this year? Delbarton's in town now...etc. Just odd to see them not playing more than SSM.

Mt St Charles is the only team that came in to play them. They have gone out there every other year.

That's crazy that they didn't set up "we play you, you play us" deals.

You may not know Zamman; how are the trips funded?

Not 100% sure, but the families must pay to go. I know for Richfield, at least the band program, the kids have fund-raising and the families pay the rest. I am doing this in February to New Orleans with the band for Richfield.

It's LaBate.

And your prediction is not a surprise since he was ranked #60 by NHL Central Scouting.

Sorry "LaBate". He will not be drafted until 5th or 6th round.

I think it will be really interesting to see when he goes. I've seen him play a few times this year and he gets the offense going when he is out there.
