I see that Lechner and Ben Bahe are going to be on this. Must have taped their segment as they are in Grand Rapids today.

They said EP would be 1 if it weren't for the Molenaar injury even though he probably won't even miss any games. But Roseau at 7!?!? Where do they come up with this stuff?
EP two out of three.

This program was laughable last night. It seems that the station put it together as if it was an afterthought. They didn't even have the balls to put Hopkins at 5th the Lake. It was also really nice to hear their thoughts about the North Suburban and the South Suburban. Also, where was EGF in their list of the best 5 outstate teams?

Cameranesi looked like a bit of a space cadet, too

I thought they said they slated Wayzata at preseason #1, not that they hoped they would win state? Did I miss something?

Quick to defend

I know for a fact that myFOXhockey has always shown respect to Hopkins so it may have just been an oversight. You are very quick to critique a pretty good high school show. Laughable is your post, and with that post, it exposes your limited knowledge of what it takes to get a show on the network. I appreciate the efforts of those guys who put this preview together. Instead you scrutinize why EGF was left off, be constructive and post why they should have been mentioned. They are there to promote the game. Ask yourself where your place is...

At the end of the interview with Davis, they said they hoped the #1 ranking sticks and that they bring home a big piece of hardware come March. I'm certain the commentators weren't trying to sound biased, but I thought it was a weird thing to say during a program that was supposed to preview all of high school hockey.

So what's your real name buddy? Jim Rich?

Anyways, I'll admit that my statement, "This program was laughable last night," was pretty strong. The show was better than that.

My statement that the producers of the show didn't have the balls to put Hopkins at 5th in the Lake was in reference to the fact that they seemingly didn't want to offend their players by putting them at 5th place in a 5 team conference. It's widely predicted around the state that they'll finish in 5th this year. They should've listed them and noted that they are capable of finishing AT LEAST in the middle of any other metro conference. Instead, they went all PC.

In regards to what I said about EGF being left off, I'll stand by that. They should've replaced Warroad on the rankings. I can't stand it when sports people get on TV and spout off the same predictions year after year. It's like the MLB people that kiss the Yankees' and Red Sox's behinds every year or the NFL people that say that the Cowboys are the best thing since sliced bread.

I love any kind of props that the news stations bring to high school hockey!

Firstly, I am not your buddy, nor am I Jim Rich.

I can't stand it when sports people get on forums and spew the same rhetoric about predictions year after year. Think about who has won the state tourney title in the last several years. I just appreciate the fact they promote high school hockey at all. Aside from Fox9, myFOXhockey, and Mnhockeyhub, what other station provides this much coverage? FSN?
If you think EGF should have been mentioned, why? (That was a second request) So you can 'stand by' a statement, you just can't back it up with any fact or opinion? You sound like a poser to me...buddy.

maniago - dont take it personal and that goes out to the station as well. you will find on these boards that people have an idea in their mind how things are and it wont change. critical of ANYTHING. its nice that fox put something out hockey just doesnt get much tv time period. predictions are tuff as for east side they probley wont beat warroad. i can see it happening in the next three years but unlikley to happen this year. they have like 4 new starters in warroad this year maybe more from out of town which will change the dynamics of their team which is often the case and most of east sides power is still young. i guess what im saying is why wouldnt someone pick warroad?

Just want to pass on a "way-to-go" to Karl and all of the followers of Minnesota High School Hockey. It is your unrivaled passion for this game that feeds people like myself, my broadcast partner, and all the important players behind the scenes that make the myfoxhockey engine run with enthusiasm. We will never claim to be perfect, but we will continue to strive to bring the best product possible to the loyal fans of high school hockey. Thanks again for your support.
Doug at myfoxhockey should get a serious tip of the cap for his efforts!
Emily, remember us when you are running the country someday!
Pete Waggoner on play-by-play is as good as it gets. His passion is the fuel, and his knowledge and opinions are invaluable. He certainly brings spice and credibility.
Bill Dallman, a special thanks for your support and also for allowing this resource to continue.
I, Bart A, appreciate all the nice comments and the support of our loyal followers. I hope that we, as a group, have enhanced your high school hockey experience. Looking forward to making more strides next year.

Congrats to all the players that played in the 2009-2010 chapter of HS hockey, your sacrifices and participation are appreciated!

Minnetonka, hold your heads up, I know you are disappointed, but you were a special group that will not soon be forgotten!

I am not a legend, never have been; but the myfoxhockey and mnhockeyhub supporters, from top to bottom, have made me feel like one! For that, I thank you.
See you in a long 9 months!

So you are associated with the network...

If you are so hell-bent on people staying positive in their posts, please direct your focus elsewhere. Your lack of posts indicate you may not follow the forum and its users that much, so let me fill you in on the fact that I am far from negative at least 90% of the time. There are far more instances and far more people that complain ad nauseum about things such as private school recruiting, Tim Sager, Phil Housley's coaching ability, Phil Housley's commentating ability during the Class A state tournament, etc., etc.

The emotions behind my initial post on this thread were mainly fueled by the show's omission of the North Suburban and South Suburban conference previews, compounded by (what I INCORRECTLY thought at the time) EGF's incorrect "omission" from the top 5 outstate team ranking. My point is, I'm rarely a mean spirited person on this forum and you only saw the "worst" of me, and you're just wasting your time trying to paint me as a jerk. I feel you are a member of the forum that's just curious about what others say about the Fox network's hockey coverage (and, therefore, what others are say about your employer). If you want to turn this into something positive, maybe you can send a memo to Fox on my behalf to include the North Suburban and South Suburban conference previews next year in place of human interest stories about Matt Cullen, for example.
