Centennial Bantam A Preview Results and Comments

Post by bodman »

Does anyone know of a schedule for the Centennial Preview this weekend? A lot of the big boys (Shattuck, Eden Prairie, Wayzata, Burnsville, etc) are playing in it. Should be very good early-season hockey.

EP - Elk River

ER scored 2 early on as EP looked like they were sitting some guys and seemed very tired in 1st period. 2nd period EP scored 2 to tie it up and 3rd was back and forth with no results.

EP - will be good this year no doubt
ER - Strong top to bottom no superstars no real weak links

Burnsville - Centennial

BV's top line was too much for Centennial to handle. both teams created offensive chances, but BV's goalie played well making key saves, and huge defensive lapses by centennial led to BV goals.

BV - will be good if top line stays together lots of speed and quality goaltending

Centennial - needs to shore up defense and Goaltending if they want to compete with top teams

Does anyone have anymore scores from the Centennial weekend? Was this a "tournament" style, if so who won it?

One more score from Saturday - WBL 4, Eagan 2

Not a tourney style. Just a bunch of games.

So, Edina beats Duluth East, 9-2
Burnsville (a team doing very well) beat Duluth East, 6-0
Stillwater beats Edina, 5-4 and than turns around and loses to Duluth East, 6-2 ??

I'd sure like to know how DE managed that win 8)

I think the better question is how Stillwater beat Edina?

I think Duluth East will definatley have some peaks & valleys this season especially with 7 1st year bantams - 4 of which at defense - its all about confidence &hopefully they can gain during the season or at least before they play Wayzata friday in Duluth
