Minneapolis down to one team

Terrible name. Should go with Lakers IMO. It's amazing how much has changed in Minneapolis from the mid - 80's when I knew it well. Washburn, Southwest and Roosevelt turned out good teams and some very good players. Even Edison, South and Henry turned out good talent from time to time. Sad, but time moves on.

I think too many of you are looking at this as if open enrollment and recruiting were 100 percent to blame. Since the days of strong hockey programs in both Minneapolis and St Paul alike, the demographics and poulation has greatly changed. The days of european desendants living in these once talented areas is coming to a close. we have watched school after school slowly fade their hockey programs out. this didnt have as much to do with supporting or not supporting athletic programs, but more to do with the lack of prospective players amongst the same population base. It is sad to see the traditions of hockey die in those communities, the current melting pot within doesnt have the ingredient to support this sport. I wish the best for those who are grouping together to hang on to the minneapolis hockey tradition.

Should have chosen the Bruins after the Minneapolis Bruins from 1963-1965.

Novas was a bad choice. Does each player get a bag with rollers and a big NOVAS on the side?
