Though I appreciate the spin mastery, that is not exactly where I was going. If the Machine fans choose not to cheer for the Blades, that's their pregogative - they can do what they wanna do. However, they need to quit picking out kids by clearly indentifiable equipment, whether they play with the Blades in other tournaments or not.

Re: Little Red Helmet Kid...

No sarcasm at all. I was referencing the comments last year on this board to him as "The little red helmet kid".. He's a joy to watch play and Coach.

Maybe it's because we've all been conditioned to the continious ripping on the Blades program in all these threads that we detected a strong dose of sarcasm in your post. If yours was genuine, then that's great.

I heard ETS is helping coach the Blades....good luck with that Monopoly Man. What does that say for the Blades if they have to lure players from another program as well as a coach. My guess is Monopoly Man aka ETS said take me take me and I'll let you take some players. Classic.........
wow another gem, you just keep swinging away don't you... real classy! You sure seem to worry about what i 'm doing all the time. Why don't you find abother hobby. Seems like all you want to do is try to make stuff up about me and root against 10 year olds who represent minnesota. What a waste!
Kind of funny, if ETS is Scott then he's posting and coaching the Blades while their game is going on.

ETS message was posted 8:14pm, over 2 1/2 hour after the game started. This message board is also in MST as well as the Brick games. The games are around 1.5 hours and started at 5:30 MST...do the math. But Brokaw is such a tool I wouldn't even put it past him to try posting between periods with his laptop he carries around but that's clearly not the case because his message was well after the game was over.

And Brokaw aka ETS the only reason you're in Edmonton was to lure the red helmet kid to the Brick. The kid is a great player as he has shown scoring 7 of the 8 goals for the Blades. Without the red helmet kid skating every other shift the Blades sound like they have zero offense. The kid got them a win and that was the game they had to win considering that Conn. team is probably the weakest team with the Blades in that bracket.

Good luck to the Blades do MN Hockey proud :D

It is too bad that MN couldn't have had a more competitive team playing in the Brick. When you go out and lose 10-2 that doesn't look good for MN hockey or the Blades. Truth is if they put the best 17 players or so at the '00 level for this tourney you would have a heavy mix on Machine players, some Blade players, the red helmet kid from Monopoly and probably a couple other Monopoly players, #9 from the Icemen and perhaps 1-2 other from that team, and a couple others from other programs. I would have loved to have seen the top players at this level put a team together from MN because it's a very solid group.

It's HILARIOUS how worked up you get over this stuff!! I've never seen anyone who harbors such deep resentment over a kids team.

You need to start putting things in perspective, obviously you have a kid playing at this level and he must be your oldest. First thing, 00 level is not that solid overall, due to the fact their 8-9 YEARS OLD and need a lot of work, but the overall skill level is a huge drop from the 99 level. You can put 99 and 98 level kids on the ice together and games would be VERY competitive, you put 00 with 99's and there's a huge difference. Please stop naming kids numbers and what color helmet they wear, call out the coach, organization, stupid parents, but leave the kids OUT!

Follow what you're saying, but this years 2000 Blades team is hardly cherry picked. If you know this 2000 group as a whole, a 17 player all star team would be stunning..... Win it? I wouldn't doubt it.
Bo Knows Hockey - Put the rivalries aside for a bit like the NHL does in the Olympics.

With this years group you take the core 5-6 from the Machine, top 1-3 from Blades, Monopoly, Torspo, Icemen, Wings and LSStars and you run away with this thing and in the process make each program and all of Minnesota Hockey proud!

Grasping at Straws.

Check it out at this link... by the way since it is July 2 today, two days ago (when the post was made) would be June 30 - figured Id help you out with the math.

I may have posted between periods as I wasn't at the game (or even in the country) so I don't know, but I don't know how that could be as the live stats from the link that I posted had it in the third when I posted - that was the whole point of the post.

Connecticut Yankees 5 goal win over Brick Alberta makes the Blades win over Connecticut seem like a better win than maybe we had thought. Of course, the Jr. Blackhawks haven't been very strong since they pounded the Blades, so maybe it just shows the inconsistecy of 10 year olds, even very good ones.

Blades are done as of this morning. Last game 4 - 3 loss to Detroit. They finished 1 and 4 but had close games with all but the egg they must have laid against chicago. Based on the scoring, they just didn't have enough balanced firepower.

I do not know about the rest of you, but I feel shame. I will need to take an extra Prozac to get over this. How will Minnesota Hockey ever recover? I am forever indebted to the little red helmet for saving some pride. Next year, I hope all those former NHLers kids can restore the pride.

Everyone heard it here many times. . .

"Blades will be fine"

Brick results:
11th place (out of 12)
2nd lowest in goals scored
(only THREE players scored goals - )
2nd in penalty minutes

But they were first in something -

#1 in goals against!

Ask the parents though and I'm sure they'll all tell you they were close games.

Again....Need I remind you that this is a SQUIRT TOURNAMENT?!?! The boys are taking just their first steps in their development process. My bet is that these 2000-2001 Blades teams perform much better when they reach the PeeWee Major - Bantam Minor age level.....right about the time that MM teams start folding. :P (sorry, I couldn't resist).

MVP of The Brick was actually a kid from Florida. He played for one of the Toronto teams. I saw him play in House League on Saturday and he is phenomenal.

Actually the MVP of the tournament was a player from Minnesota. The top scorer in pool play was a kid that played for Toronto. I guess there is another player from Maine that played for the other Toronto team who was very good! There are a bunch of highlight videos of him on YouTube

You're correct. Thanks for straightening me out. I read it and obviously didn't retain it!

It figures the blades lost...

I mean...i don't get how the blades or even the mighty machine could be successful in a tournament like this anyways...with all of the crappy development these kids are subjected to in their various D6 associations

Is there a chance that another poor showing at the Brick could result in the Blades losing their exclusive right to attend?
