Congrats to the monopoly program.
The 99's won the championship
the 98's went 4-0-1
the 01's lost in the final and had 7 or 8 02's
the 00's were a litlke off but finished stron. I think it really hurt the missing their top player for the tournament and missing 3 strong players against the icemen. They still only lost by a goal. Their top player played at the 99' level and was 4 or 5th in points for the whole level. Sounds like he would of had a big impact.

What happen to the beloved Icemen? The kids have all hit a block wall, playing for this coach. Good is a stretch, a fair team is more like it, they have one good kid at best, to play on a fair first line. I lost count on how many time this coach shorten the bench in these games, I've only seen one game and I have it figured out. A Championship, 5th place, now 3rd place, They shouldn't have won 2 games, can only go down hill from here......TGO wrote:Congratulations Blades! Good game. Top Gun Elite did well, especially against the Icemen! Monopoly could have beaten the Icemen had they showed up to play. What happened to the Icemen? I thought they were supposed to be so good, after winning the Meltdown [/u]and all?
The Icemen are just fine and have not hit a wall. They most definately have more than one "good" player. They have a great player nice compliments but are still undermatched a bit - as the team building got a very late start. Meltdown - yes - pulled off some nice wins while sometimes getting outplayed and were even 3-4 with the Blades until about 1 1/2 min left. Because they win the Meltdown means they have to win every tournament? The 2 losses in the tourney they finished 5th in were the Machine and apparently the best team out of Manitoba (who the Icemen had down 3-0 at one point and I think finished losing 5-3 maybe 6 with an open netter). They outplayed the Monopoly this last w/e understanding the Monopoly was missing their best player at least, but at one point that game was 3-0 Icemen. Anyway - the kids and the coaches are just fine - I can assure you they have had a very good/fun time this year and are improving on their skills, some dramatically - from what I have noticed they love their coach. And I don't think anyone has been out here highly touting them (as the next great team). Finally, before we continue bashing the coaches, with respect to some of the scores - the Iceman were the last to play the team that was getting lit up all w/e (with the exception of the Sunday a.m. games) - because of the tie breakers to some degree they had to post as many goals as they could as both they and the Top Gun team were looking to go into Sunday with 4-0 records - if the Icemen back off scoring they lose on a tiebreaker (I think) if they would have played the Top Gun team to a tie on Sunday. Unfortunate the tournament rules were as such rather than the first tiebreaker being goals against which would have changed this entire scenario. While I never saw the rules this was my understanding as a parent going into the game. Can we end it now, the kids for the most part, perhaps with an exception or 2 (and I'm not even sure that is the case), are having a blast from what I can tell, look forward to practice and walk away with their heads up and smiles on their faces.

I been silent so long now it's gonna roar out of me like floodwaters and you think the guy telling this is ranting and raving my God; you think this is too horrible to have really happened, this is too awful to be the truth! But, please. It's still hard for me to have a clear mind thinking on it. But it's the truth even if it didn't happenThe Icemen are just fine and have not hit a wall.
