I was wondering why it was locked and then I realized that 3 other threads are locked all containing conversations about the Blades. Some of the talk was crazy but it usually is on the forum. I didn't think the conversations were anything to get the undies in a bundle over.
I find the banter good humor.

Me too buddy! People here on this Forum seem to take themselves and their opinions SO seriously! HeShootsHeScores, u are the only one on this Forum that really gets it! Congratulations! Talk to everybody else on Monday! I hope I'm not eating too much crow! But if somebody wins this 2000 Tourney this weekend, other than the Blades(anybody), all H*** is going to break loose, eh?

Sorry about this HeShootsHeScores but I had to use your Post to answer hockey_is_a_choice. His Post is locked out and I just had a short response. That was a very nice, well thought out, well articulated Post. The only response I would give u is that in my Posts, I am not masking ANYTHING! I haven't criticized anyone that hasn't shot his mouth off first. I haven't been vicious or critical! I asked a few questions as to why a Coach was let go and I still haven't received ONE legitimate reason why this was done. I Posted the result of two Tournaments, and that is not a criticism of the Blades. The results of those two Tournaments are facts that cannot be denied. Of couse everyone has a right to their OWN opinion including me and u hockey_is_a_choice! All I'm saying is there are a lot of hypocrites out there that talk out of both sides of their mouth! I have criticized no individual, I have only reported the facts as they have unfolded this year for the 2000's Tournaments, and I have asked legitimate questions as to why a Coach was fired when the Blades last year actually outplayed and outshot the Machine last year but lost both close games. And then the Team was blown up for no explained reason? The Coach was fired. I'll ask again, WHY? Anybody got a straight answer to that question out there for me? No sarcasm. no criticism, and no B.S.? Could anybody out there imagine what the Blades Team would look like out there this year with the Icemen's Coach and their first line and Goalie? Come on, I'm just asking anyone on the inside and in the know to give me a straight answer to this question! I don't have to like what u tell me, but if there is an honest answer as to why he was let go and the Team was blown up, then let's have it!!!!!!

I agree with you, why would a coach get fired when they have a fantastic team? Answer? The coach. Must be something wrong with him no organization in there right mind would fire a winning coach unless something went wrong. Sounds like you may know and maybe its even you or your buddy who is TTL and you are trying to make yourself feel better.
O.K. this TTL person sounds like they are very full of them self, and likes to hear him self talk, or rationalize about nothing. Sounds like it 's the coach that keep getting fired. I wonder how many times he has used the players from his old team, on his current team. And if he does, sounds like he can't this weekend. I don't have kid at the 2000 level, but he sure won't play for this person.

Why did you lock your post? Is it your way or the highway?
Your post is right on. Throughout the youth hockey community I have heard of this coach and I second your opinion. There is no way, my kids would ever play for this guy even if he had the best team in the country. From what I hear, it IS his way or the highway. Sounds like his only fan is himself and players who follow him.

I have no clue about whom you're speaking, but it seems that if you agree with HIS way, then there is no need for the highway; if not, the highway option is always available.

You guys care way to much about AAA hockey. It's AAA hockey, it doesn't mean anything. Once you get out of Bantams you realize how stupid it really is. Grow up people.

We are talking about Tom Rodman (Roddy). The word I got was that he got in to a physical altercation with a parent on the team last year. Combine that with the fact that his boy was not a top player on the team and Terry Moore gave him the boot.

There was no physical altercation. It highly likely boils down to philisophical differences in opionion - no big deal. The kids love him, he does an outstanding job - has there been some blips - yep - same as every other coach - seems some here just want to suggest controversy/issues just to have something to chatter/banter/post about. We're thrilled our son plays for him and it was our sons choice not ours! Go Iceman! Great years ahead for Roddy and his team!!

Well thanks for clearing that up. Good for you son. AAA hockey is way too serious for 8, 9 and 10 years old. There are a lot of ego maniacs, coaches and parents, mostly parents! Just looking at all these posts is hilarious. Everyone has a opinion. Bottom line, many have heard of this coach and there is a reason he got fired. You don't fire a coach that all the kids love and has a winning record. Something not right there. If my son was at squirt level we would choose to be a machine or blades or monopoly player only because of coaching and the organizations. Guess you are lucky to have found the good in this guy. Good luck! :D

NEGATIVE--At least this is a reason, whether it's true or not really isn't clear is it? Any proof? What Coach can please all the parents ALL the time? Let me answer that one for U. Not a SINGLE Coach! And some parents can become VERY obnoxious and almost physical if their boy doesn't get what THEY want for him! Fact of life! Unavoidable!!! I speak from experience!

POSITIVE-Nice to hear from somebody who's son actually plays for this Coach. Seems like u are plenty satisfied. By the way out there, I want to clarify something. I don't even know this Coach. I am not a friend of this Coach or any of his friends. And I am in no way related to this Coach. I am just an astute hockey man who was really impressed when I saw how these little guys(last year's Blades 2000's) quickly passed the puck last year in Duluth. How they played great position and how they backchecked EVERY time! When I came to Minnesota this year, he was gone from the Blades Organization and I was really wondering why somebody would fire such a competent Coach. No personal agenda on my part whatsoever! Nice to see a parent on his this year's team say something nice about this guy! Because whether u like him or not, he CAN Coach!

Old, you really should educate yourself before picking your heros ... icemen beat a team 18-1. Who will you cheer for now?

I argee JJ now that I have only heard of controversy/issues about this coach is right GOOD LUCK~! So had I go and see a game this weekend, he has one fairly good kid, and your right You just don't fire a coach that all the kids love and has a winning record. Something is very wrong here! Maybe yelling and breaking hockey sticks on the boards, is not a good way to get kids to respond in a positive manner. Remember I just relocated to this area, I have a 10 year old, and I'm only hearing issues about coaching, doesn't make me feel warm fuzzy to let my son play competitive hockey in this area. I do however hear great things about the Machine or MM.
What would you think if you heard a coach punished his team because 4 kids gave each other a high five after they won a championship?

Terrible of course. Too many coaches are getting too serious with these kids. Reading all of these posts (also posts on other threads) and hearing about all the coaches, none of this sounds good for the kids or the parents. Bottom line, there are certain coaches and certain kids that get along. Some don't. Just got to find the right one for your kid. For us, that doesn't mean a winning record. We would rather get along with a coach and the team and have our kid learn and HAVE FUN than win at all costs.

s&d, Terrible--- I would not , can't, and won't condone scores like that. Not by any team. I just don't get it!!! Maybe it's the thought of the ten year old playing goalie during the drubbing. Maybe it's the rest of the kids that just got the s-it kicked out of them. But I think what really bugs me are the coaches and parents that think this is a good thing. What's wrong with you guys?

Problem is you were trumpeting the icemen WITHOUT knowing they do the same thing. Theres plenty of blame to go around, tournament for inviting/scheduling such diverse talent levels are partly to blame. At some point after changing positions, passing the puck around is more humiliating than scoring. I've seen that from both ends.
