How in the world did the 2 forwards from Grand Rapids make this? They were far better forwards that were left off:
-Galstad EGF
-Olson Roseau
-Solheim Theif River Falls
-Baker Grand Rapids

Just to name a few:

Must be that one of the coach's on D12 was their Dad......I think the same can be said for the Cloquet goalie as well...

If it's anything like the boys 15 process the evaluators at the tournament have no input from the District coaches, previous play or history. They watch the tournament and base their selections on play in the 3-4 tourney games. If the player has a good 3 days they can make it. They also select more kids off the winning teams than the losing ones.

I noticed district 5 had more selected than any other team even though they played for last place on sunday, 16 girls selected. I also noticed some teams did not have all there players for some games I heard some had soccer games instead I wonder if some of those players were still selected. I think if you cannot commit to all the games you need to withdraw I know things come up but I bet almost every girl there had something else going but made a choice. I heard last year there was quite a problem when one coach did not have a full roster, so what is the difference if you have a full roster but only bring 15 players or is it about the money.

Yes, very interesting about District 5, very interesting indeed. There's a HUGE disconnect here as well as elsewhere in the process. The numbers generally don't lie, so it's almost impossible for an outsider to see how these numbers add up. Observer, if what you say is true (and it makes sense), then it's even more puzzling how they made the selections that they did. Lack of transparency just makes matters worse.

More than a few times I have seen where some of the teams playing for last place had one really good goalie and one weak one. The evaluators are looking at the players and sometime the better defense men stand out in front of a weak goalie.
The players in each game are watched no mater which game it is.

I purposely did not want to pick on any of the goalies, just in case that was part of it. I assume that each goalie plays one half of each game? Does anyone have the scores for all of the games?

I did speak to the D15 team manager/coach, and he indicated that the coaches do rank the players at each position after each game.

Lack of transparency, lack of following through with what they sell is another, granted different people will come up with different selections,at the 16s by their numbers it was supposed to be 9 forwards,6d, 2 goalies, instead they take 10 forwards,5 d,and no goaltenders named,it begs the question who was the tenth forward who was tough to cut?why wouldnt they list list the goaltenders with the rest of the roster?wonder why they have number problems?
