Well, from what I've read....
two teams skate on ice compeating against eachother trying to hit a little round black piece of rubber into the other teams net, or goal if you will......
Just playin, I have no Idea how to answer this question

Wayzata vs. Grand Rapids
Burnsville vs. Lakeville

Duluth vs. Eden Prairie
Edina vs. Elk River

Let's get some predictions.

I haven't seen Rapids play this year, but I'll take Wayzata 6-1
I'll take Burnsville over Lakeville
The Duluth, EP game has me stumped. It seems like EP is playing much better at the end of the year. With that said, I've been very impressed with Duluth this year. I'll take Duluth 4-3 in a close one.
I'll take Edina over Elk River 5-0

bb's lakeville game recap

Post by blueblood »

Both goalies played well.

Lakeville hit 2 posts in the first period, one on the pp. Other than their goal, those were their best two chances.

Tonka also had 2 great chances. One in the second period and one in the third.

In the second, tonka won a scrum along the left wing boards (fans side) in the offensive zone and got the puck to the wing all alone in front. The tonka player didn't get the puck up high enough, so I wouldn't say the goalie made a great save, but he was there.

In the third, tonka was on the pp and got the puck from the boards (fans side again) to a defenseman moving in from the blue line who was all alone in the slot. He didn't get enough of the puck and it fluttered. The goalie was definetly beat on this one as it happened right in from of me.

That's the way it goes. Both teams played well enough to win, but only one can advance. Congrats to Lakeville!

Does anyone have an actual bracket for the State tourney? And where could I get one?
When Hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too.

solid picks. on the elk river edina game, i hope it lives up to the hype. not the violence hype, but the fact that it should be a really physical, hard fought game

This is no disrespect to Grand Rapids because their kids play a good clean game and their coach Jim is a great guy, but I hope they play better then they did against White Bear the weekend before the regional. The scores were 9-1 and 10-2 White Bear. My hope is they have a good state and Wayzata doesn't blow them off the ice.

My other hope is that the Edina/Elk River game doesn't revisit the game they played against each other at the regional. Not good for anyone involed in that at the end.

I think the other games will be close, as some have predicted, and I hope it just turns out to be a good tournatment with no ugliness.

Play hard boys, let the puck bounces fall where they may, then leave the ice knowing you played your hardest and the best team won that day.

My best to all the teams in the state this year.
