15s (95s) are with the youth hockey district (40 95s per District to start the process)

16s and 17s (94s and 93s) are with high school section

Do some second year bantams go to Advanced 16's? And how is this program divided. Districts?

Advanced 15 is for 1995 birthdates and runs through one of twleve MN Hockey Districts. Coaches nominate up to 3 of their players and the District's Advanced 15 GM invites them to a tryout.

Advanced 16 is for 1994 birthdates and runs through one of eight MSHSL Sections. Coaches nominate up to 3 of their players and the Section's Advanced 16 GM invites them to a tryout.

Advanced 17 is for 1993 birthdates and runs through one of eight MSHSL Sections. Coaches nominate up to 3 of their players and the Section's Advanced 17 GM invites them to a tryout.

If a second year bantam (or 14U) player is a 1994 birthdate they can be invited to an Advanced 16 tryout.

So no news yet on the rosters? With tryouts about 3 wks away, you would think there would be something posted out there already.

I know some have a registration deadline of February 26th. I presume to wait for the regular season to end.

USA Hockey is always notoriously slow and late in notifying participants.

Who nominates 92's? Is that U18? Some of those kids are only Juniors in high school.

92s have "aged out" of the USA Hockey Advanced programs.
Don't sweat the small stuff.

Update

Post by F14 »

Letters from District 3 and severals others are mailing on the 28th for the Advanced 15. Tryouts are March 22nd - March 24th (Mon-Wed) at New Hope. This is for A15's only

Not sure about 16's or 17's since they have to come through HS Hockey coaches recommendations and then I have heard that scouts/USA Hockey people put the final touches on it.

Actually, it was Jordan Johnson of Hill on the all-tourney team. He is a senior.

I thought two of the best 94 forwards were Toninato and Randolph of Duluth East

He is saying in his opinion. Watching the 94 birth year players that's who would be on his all tournament team no 94 birth year made the actual all tournament team so he actually didn't mean jordan johnson jonah did play though his playing time was very limited

so basically this guy based his 94 all tourney team off of an assumption of becasue his brother is good that he is good- wow that sounds like how every other coach picks their teams too! :P

I saw Coatta several times during the regular season, he didn't seem to have the same energy or jump in the tourney. I guess the whole team was that way though!
