I have read this thread and just feel I need to ask this. HockeyDad41, are you the father of a kid born in 2000? Is this your oldest or only child? Did you play hockey?

would be great if blades would commit to 3 or 4 game series over the summer? hear blades are all about FUN so why not?
Please elaberate. Excellent in what way? Explain how a parent coach, with very limited playing experience (if any, and I'm being kind), is going to develop your son. To be honest, a trained monkey can take the best 8-9 year old kids in the metro area coach and win hockey games, but years down the road, will these kids develop under a coach with no real coaching or playing experience. You must ask yourself, with the money your spending in that program, do you deserve better than parent coaching? Don't you already get that from association hockey? I'm not trying to turn this into another Blade vs. Machine thread, but it's a question worth asking
I'd love to read NIINTEAM's answer to HOTG's post. It's a good point worth discussing. Pay a lot of money to play top notch AAA hockey, and you have the choice (no pun intended) to play for a well respected coach (2000 blades), or a parent coach (2000 Machine), with no real coaching or playing background. I guess in the end, what experience does Bernie McBain have? I can answer that one, NONE!

All because I asked about a AAA team?

I just heard they had a really good coach this year for the 2000's.

Good coach, great with kids(no screaming crap). Coaching was a small part of the Miracles success though.... Loads of talent on the team.

Greatone99, Dude you need to fire up some happy pills. As per usual here you are again ripping someone or something you know nothing about. You've ripped everyone from Eden Prarie to STMA and now the Machine their coaches and the product, yet again never having anything to back your comments up with. Give us all some insight as to why your evaluation of anything holds water. What is your qualification to outrageous judgements. Certainly you must have coached or played at a minimum D1 or nhl hockey the way you talk.

It's funny rumor has it that the Machine coach was talking to the Blades with his 97,00. There is no comparison between coaches Blades have a coach with a proven track record and serious player development skills. Although he will have his work cut out with the 2000. As for the 3 or 4 game series didnt Machine try that with the 99 Blades and it back fired on them?
No backfires, just really good hockey!!!

STE
Blades
Miracle
Icemen
Like I said... Just a guess

What is so outrageous about my comments. Look at the two head coaches, and compare qualifications. Simple, no brainer!

Many of these players are A squirts already. Some will be in peewees as 5th graders. They compete at a higher level in the winter and the summer. Way over your head :!:

Blades lost 6 kids to Iceman, 1 to Machine and did not bring back 2 or 3 others? This top team of last year will have a very different look to it this year.

A little sensative Mr. Bo Dangles. I know these are 9& 10 year olds. Which is my point. This thread is absolutely ridiculous. Talk about living vicariously through your kids.... Watch this Don Lucia speech and maybe it will help put things into perspective.

Thank you, I have now seen the light. Kids this age should never be challenged by other talented players. The best players in the world always played only in-house rec hockey. Michigan has always been light years behind us because they play rec hockey only, not like MN that has been heavy into AAA forever. Hockey family kids never turn into good hockey players, they are exposed to way too much hockey. Parents that try to give their kids all the tools (sports, best education, good parenting, life lessons) to be successful in life are wasting their time.... It always backfires. I feel terrible forcing my kids to play since they hate hockey. Thanks again, I'm now a former hockey dad. :D

Did the Monopoly fall apart? I thought hey were a top 3 team last year. Then again I only saw them at the easton cup and meltdown.

You can tell the 2010 summer hockey season has begun. That's great.

KITP - you need to stop reading the summer hockey threads. The kids have fun, the parents have fun, and quite honestly, not only do the parents not agree with your assesment, but pulling out that tired old Lucia bit just lost you any credibility you may have thought you had. Pick another user name and start again.

Youngest of five . Only practice player will not be on tourny team. Still gets the 80 hrs of ice the team gets for practice. [if it is not on Baseball, or soccer nights] Nothing great, just has been chasing older bros his whole life. My point was that reebok should be a top 8-10 type program.[ from a development point]

Being from Forest Lake.. Why would you have your son practice with a team from the Richfield/Bloomington area? The NSC is 15 minutes away and is the largest hockey complex in the world. They also house many rapidly rising AAA programs. Just curious.......

Oldest started with them and it has turned into a nice fit for us with other sports. I met Steve " Yuro" many years ago and when he came to the metro we got together, I looked at the program and was impressed with the developmental side of it. [I have heard many great things about programs at Schwans.] It is in fact check-book hockey and I like the way they do business. The F.L. varsity started a S.T.P. program for Squirts on up that is very reasonable and may become the option we mayuse in the future.
