Do the top players from Minnesota miss out on much by not being part of this? Do they hurt their chance of being an Olympian someday or miss out on a chance to receive great development/training resources from USA hockey?
It seems like USA Hockey gets more dues money from Minnesota girls than almost the rest of the country combined but our community/hs system precludes our kids from being involved. With only three teams at one age group even in the running to go to nationals it is no wonder our players are unknown to the east coast. Some of these players may have been to national tournaments 5 or 6 times, players names have been out there since first year U12.
Maybe its time the super rink should host more than the adult national team.
Not to be negative though, this is a fine honor for all of these kids and without seeing them play I can't know that these are not the best or right players to have selected. Safe travels and good luck to the team.

MN Hockey isn't upset so this won't change and the MNGHCA doesn't care. As the State of Hockey we appear happy with with the 3 U19 AAA teams and the 6 U19 B teams and the +3500 HS players - that number leads the Nation. MN leads the Nation in D1 Players every year about half of the Americans.
Despite this USA Hockey allows MN to send 16 of the 103 to the National camp at U15 and U16 and 8 at U17. From these camps the East continues to place more players on the U18 Team. Until MN Hockey starts saying this is BS it won't change. This hurts MN girls to get the added training the girls who are slected for these teams get.
I like the 3 choices a lot but by the way we had 5 last fall so we lost half of what we had. Does anyone else understand how Ms Hockey Bethany Brausen isn't good enough for this team - who is kidding who? Come on MN Hockey start raising a little heck for the girls who pay a lot of dues.
