I don't disagree with most however, the North region may change a bit from your prediction. White Bear has beaten Stillwater 2 out of 3 this year although Stillwater looked good against the Bears in the D2 final on Saturday.

With Stillwater and WB in different pools in the North region, it is very likely both could make it to state. I think East has less of a chance. If East finishes 2nd in their pool, they will most likely play Stillwater in the cross over game.

If you look at the schedules from up North, East looks like the team to beat from up that way although most of their wins have been close, no blowouts really.

Should be a fun regional, lots of parity.

Oh and don't count out Centnnial in the West. They have been playing Elk River and Andover tough all season. They have a real chance too.

Edina would have to lose a game in their pool to be a number one seed. Don't think it will happen. Burnsville 1 and Edina 2 in that region.

I feel like I need to start with a disclaimer: I do not live in St Michael, I don't have a child or grandchild, niece or nephew playing for STMA. I am a little confused as to why they seem to get snubbed at every level. I jumped on the squirt bandwagon - they did well at Fargo, then were dismissed away as having an easy path to the finals. Now the peewees are headed to regionals and they can't even get a wink as a wildcard over an Orono team that they've beaten. I don't think Orono will overlook them, nor will Centennial nor Moorhead - nor Woodbury, nor Park. Elk River, OMG, and Bemidji may not. Edina may feel pretty confident, though.

Respect is tough to earn. It comes to these more distant growing suburbs difficultly. I remember when Rogers was nothing. Centennial was new. I'll put STMA in with Prior Lake, Rosemount, Farmington, Waconia and even Forest Lake as organizations on the rise, seemingly at the younger levels, that will have to be dealt with in the future by the old giants. It starts with little glimmers at the younger levels and then grows from their. When they beat established programs it's hard for the older programs to admit that someone may be working harder than them.

I would beg to differ, STMA has had lots of discussion and props on the squirt A forum all year and well deserved. They are one of the top 5 teams this year, and probably last year were top 5 as well. Most dogged EP for shortening lines at the squirt level to win the fargo tournament more than they got on STMA for a weak road to the championship game.

Everyone looks at these things and picks them apart. Some of it is deserved and some just someone trying to get under your or others skin.

We all see a very good group of athletic kids coming up over the past few years at STMA. The big boys are no doubt deeper and will probably get the nod from most due to depth but STMA is playing very well and will be in the mix. Remember they are young (several key first year players) as well and this may be a disadvantage coming into the bigger games with kids with more experience. Just because they are not picking them doesn't mean they don't know they are there and have a chance.

Is it a good group of kids coming through a small program or a program that will be good for a long time? This is yet to be seen. It is very hard to keep doing it over time in a small association.

Not sure Edina wanted to see Burnsville lose today. That could setup an Edina / Burnsville cross over game on Sunday. Districts rivals means it's no gimme for the Hornets.

Looks like Rochester is for real!
