Post by MrBoDangles »

I'm trying to figure out what city or youth association the Hill Murray players are from.
name/youth association/The public HS they would of played for.
If you know one, or all, any help would be great!

Zephs

Jack Walsh and Sampair are from Mahtomedi. Zephs would destroy Breck and STA with those two...bastards.

#14 Charlie Sampair is a Mahtomedi kid who abandoned their program to play one year in WBL A Bantams to go to H-M.

D-man Kevin Shultze is a WBL kid.

I don't know Chuck or Kevin or their parents personally, but I know both parents are highly thought of amongst other WBL parents. The whole Sampair family, brothers, sisters, cousins, moms and dads all attended H-M. They are always visiting WBL's side whether playing H-M or if just there to watch a WBL game.

On JV, goalie Pat Munson was a mild surprise to see leave WBL, and Brandon Thompson played for Forest Lake before defecting to WBL A bantams last year, and of course, Conrad Sampair, as mentioned above.

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like to call them porcupines.......

And Woodbury will be losing Guentzel to H-M next year.

I am unaware of WBL losing any bantam kids to H-M next year. Why should they, when they know a senior will get cut to make room for the sophs???

Should it be a secret.... You know where public school kids are from. Candy and nuts equal big bellies and butts

I'm pretty sure 20 of the 20 are students at Hill-Murray and are playing for their high school team.

Since those players never went to Stillwater it would be impossible for them to have "stayed'. And fortunately for them they are not coached by Mickey Mouse, but by Bill Lechner, one of the best in the state.

Why hasn't the high school league ever tweaked the Transfer Rule to include, "If a player leaves their youth hockey association to play for a different high school, that player will have to sit out 1 yr"? Is it because their is no direct correlation between youth assocations and high school??

A couple of questions:

Did you all sit around and whine this much about Ryan Wolter going from Mounds View to White Bear Lake? Or the Alexandria goalie at Moorhead? Or the Baudette kids at Roseau? Or the entire Hopkins basketball team?

What about all those families in White Bear Lake that apply for open enrollment to get try to get their kids into Mahtomedi. Are they bad people too?

It's funny that's it's such a bad thing when parents who are paying their taxes to the public schools choose to take their son/daughter away, making there more money in the schools, they are looked down on.
But when a parent wants to take their son/daughter and have them open enroll in a different district, not only using their money, but making their less available per student, that is all right.

I would think that would be true. They are two totally different entities.

Now just imagine the kids that wouldn't be playing high school hockey for Stillwater had these kids decided to play there. By choosing to play for HM, allowed other to experience playing High School hockey at Stillwater. I think some players/parents owe these families a big Thank You.
