i would agree with burnsville. its tough to hate on these guys with their goaltending the way it is but like i said before wait when he lets in a few and see how this team responds. Just look what was going on with this team the first half of the year. A team that relies on one certain player is not going anywhere in the long run. If they had a little more fire power to show they could come back from a 2-0 ,3-1 score halfway through a section game infront of thousands of people I would be more convinced. They didn't walk through ep or jefferson either.

A quick re-working with only the teams still in contention:

1. Minnetonka
2. Eden Prairie
-Big win over Wayzata gives them the 2-spot and a 1-v-2 section final. Winner will be the top seed at State.
3. Edina
4. Hill-Murray
-The only private school left in AA.
5. Blaine
-Winner of the section is the likely 4-seed at State.
6. Bloomington Jefferson
-If they beat Edina I’d be willing to give them the 3-seed. Nice job by them to finally get a big win and wreck my bandwagon pick's season.
7. Centennial
8. Duluth East
-The winner of 7AA will get seeded at State if Hill or both 5AA teams go down.
9. Elk River
10. Moorhead
-Winning convincingly; in a very similar position to the one they were in last year
11. Lakeville South
-With an upset or two, they could be considered the best non-seeded team at State.
12. Osseo
13. Maple Grove
14. Roseau
15. Woodbury
-After a year of frustration dating back to last year’s section semifinals, Saturday’s win was huge.
16. Apple Valley
-My preseason surprise pick finally acted the part.
17. White Bear Lake
-Need to do better than a 4-1 (EN) win over Roseville to have a shot in the section.
18. Stillwater
19. Lakeville North
20. Mounds View

Jefferson at 6 bugs me...

A tie and a loss to Lakeville N?

A split with overrated Egan?

0-2-1 heading into sections?

Do you have baby blue eyes?

Hardly. They're 1-0-1 against Centennial, who's right behind them, and even as an East fan I don't think the Hounds belong in front of Jefferson.

It bugs me that you only go back to the very beginning of the season against some teams and not others. Regardless, using your logic, Centennial is 1-0-1 against Blaine.

Blue eyes indeed...

Karl, if that's your logic, then Elk River should be in front of DE as ER went 1-0-1 against Centennial. Stop being a Homer. We will find out Thursday. Go Elks.

*Sigh*

Alright, I will go back much further.

This week, no team is ranked on how "hot" they've been lately. It's for the whole season, with an eye on state tournament seeds (the only place where rankings like this might actually matter).

Burnsville was higher than their record might have indicated the past few weeks because I thought, during their recent good play, they'd were in good position to wind up around 4th in the state with a good run through sections. I was wrong; it didn't happen. It was a calculated risk, and one I took on Burnsville but on no other team.

The record Jefferson record against Centennial was used as a tiebreaker between two otherwise very even, very good teams, both of which are playing well right now. Saying some other team that has several more losses than Centennial and a not nearly as impressive overall body of work (ER) deserves to be ahead of another team that beat Centennial (DE) is silly.

It bugs me that teams in 2AA think they're good too. They will get exposed in the final showing that the 2nd best team in the section got the 4th seed for the second year in a row.

But weren't all you ER fans trying to tell me that was only because of their home-ice advantage?

Should be an excellent game on Thursday regardless.

Karl, maybe a sig line is in order? "I'm a homer, he's a homer, wouldn't you like to be a homer too?"

Needless to say I am disappointed that you were forced to stick my hometown White Bear Lake team in the top 20. :-#

When are you going to realize that playing the creampuff schedule is not to AHA's benefit? (Watch this boys, HSHW will say that no one in 2AA wants to play them...)

AHA needs to drop the east coast trip and play other teams that Burnsville and Jefferson play, like:

Wayzata - a 6AA team
EP - a 6AA team
Blaine - a 5AA team
Duluth East - a 7AA team (this is a no-brainer with their independent schedule)

Heck, they could even play the other team you pull for in STA. By the way, why doesn't STA play them?

 You'll have to blame the people who scheduled the 4AA semis later than most of the rest of the sections for that one.

I'm piling up an awful lot of good sig line options..."homer," "cyber bully," "Marshall hater," "Jefferson hater," "Jefferson lover," "Brainerd hater," "Roseau hater," "Edina lover," "private school apologist," "Mike Randolph worshipper"...have I forgotten any? :D

I really should settle on one soon...

AHA was the 3 seed last year. Burnsville was 4.

Aw, come on, I'm sure there's room enough for two Roseau haters on the forum. :D

That might be the least true of all of them, seeing as I always pull for northern schools come tourney time...

AHA was the 3 seed last year. Burnsville was 4.
If that's the case the it was 1 v 3 and 2 v 4 in the semi's as AHA lost to Edina two years in a row.

What creampuff schedule? WITH their Missota games on their schedule they still have the 19th toughest schedule.

Apparently you don't read too well; as I always say, the blame goes both ways. Yes, I agree they should be playing. They don't need to play those teams; they need to play Burnsville/Jefferson. And Missota needs to let them out of their vise grip and play each team only once.

The only thing that screws AHA is their section's voting. I'd like to understand the logic of voting the team that tied the #1 seed to the #4 spot. ](*,)
