USA vs. Canada (Who gets the gold?)
What are your thoughts and predictioins on what should be a very entertaining game tomorrow at 2 pm on NBC? Some are predicting that this could be the most watched Hockey game in history. I'm going with U.S. 4-3 in a shootout.

I was really hoping the Canadians would get knocked off by Slovakia Friday night because I did NOT want the U.S. team to have to play them again for the gold.
The Canadians have had a week to think about last week's loss and they'll be looking for some revenge. The U.S. team better match Canada's intensity because I don't think they should expect Ryan Miller to stand on his head again.
USA!! USA!! USA!!

I just hope they can turn it on again after turning it off when they got up 6-0 on Finland...I don't mean to say they should have tried to score 15 goals or anything.. but in a short tournament like this I would have liked to see them keep the pressure up and not lose any momentum with Canada the final game.

As much as I'd love USA to win this one, I just don't see it happening. Anyone who knows anything about hockey and who watched the last game between these two could tell you that Canada outplayed us for pretty much the whole game. Miller standing on his head and Brodeur letting in a few softies enabled us to win that game. Don't expect this to happen again, Canada wins this one 4-1.

It will be tough for USA to beat them again. Miller will have to be on his game again. Canada still has all the pressure on them, so the US has to come out with top notch energy and play the underdog role - they have to play like they have nothing to lose and take it to Canada's defense and create traffic in front of Luongo. Team USA can't stand around in their own D-Zone like they did when they had the lead last game.
One thing that will help USA is their mix of veterans and youth. The veterans will help keep them calm and the youth should be able to bring energy. Special teams is likely to be a key to this game, so look for the team that plays with energy and determination on the PP and PK to win this one. Without a doubt the US has to have a quick start and make the Canadian team feel the pressure.
It should be a great game! Hopefully we can pay them back from Salt Lake City and win gold on their soil. Come on boys win this one for Herbie!

I like it, but how about just in regualtion. USA hasn't trailed, and won every game in regulation up to this point. I would love to see them finish it that way.MNHockey75 wrote:We beat 'em once, we can do it again. I don't care who has the best players, U-S-A has the right ones.

The refereeing has been a little suspect, both ways.
A lot of interference, late hits, and a lot of crosschecks by Niedermayer.
The ref had his head turned away when Ryan got his penalty.
Hopefully they start calling penalties, because USA will need some PP's.
Anyone else notice how slow Staal and Thornton are? Get the piano off your back.
