5 things that surprised me most:

1. Despite recent head to head game and being 1-1 on the season, STA is still #1 in 4A.

2. Blaine ahead of Centennial?

3. A team ties the #1 seed, doesn't play the #2/3 and gets #4?

4. Lourdes beats Fairbault and is seeded below them?

5. Roseau ahead of Brainerd?

welll Its quite simple, I don't know why your surprised. Since they have identical records and split the season series, they look beyond those two games. Mahtomedi lost to Hill Murray and Breck, While STA beat them both. Factor in a harder overall schedule for STA and its obvious why STA got the #1 seed.
Imagine a world...with no Wisconsin

Yeah, I don't get the insistance on repeatedly judging teams based upon 1 or 2 games out of 20+.

I'm using the most recent games.

Don't get me wrong, I like the see them up there. Their first game was 10 games and close to a month ago. On paper St Thomas is definitely better, but I would say a head to head away win would put them up there. Works for me though.

lets not kid ourselves folks...2AA and 6AA are by far the most competitive and intriguing sections out there. This is obvious because they are playing the section final games at the Target Center because this basically sets up the state champion...winner of these 2 sections are the favorites to win it all.

You think if Benilde and Jefferson win they'd be the favorites? #-o

yes because that would mean that both teams would have beat 2 top 10 teams in one week. Not a bad record to have going into state
