5AA Seedings?
So will there be any upsets in this section or will all go as planned?

I probably would have given the #1 seed to Centennial. They're 1-0-1 against Blaine this year, with the win coming recently. Centennial has been playing really well as of late too. I don't think it's as big a deal as Brainerd, Roseau. Only because I expect them to meet in the section championship at the Coliseum. Unlike Roseau having home ice advantage against Brainerd. (Assuming both teams win of course)

I thought it was a toss up between Blaine and Centennial. In the end, if there are no "upsets" it will not matter. But I do think that Osseo is a more "dangerous" team than Maple Grove. Osseo has played 2 one goal games against Blaine and a one goal game against Centennial last night. Osseo took Blaine into OT in the SF last year. Obviously Maple Grove is no slouch team either, I'd just rather have to play the Crimson than the Orioles this year! And I don't mean that in the sense that I am actually playing...LOL...I'm 42.

That's a good point, and I agree...not getting the #1 seed might end up being a fortunate thing for Centennial. We'll find out soon!DoubleDeuce wrote:I thought it was a toss up between Blaine and Centennial. In the end, if there are no "upsets" it will not matter. I agree head to head victories should mean a lot, but they shouldn't mean everything. If they were in the same section, should Lakeville North be ranked ahead of Jefferson? You could also argue that Blaine doesn't have any bad losses, while Centennial got beat 9-2 by Jefferson. I know it was early in the season, but you can't disregard that. Plus, Blaine just destroyed 2 very good teams. I'm not necessarly sticking up for Blaine (I still don't know how I feel about them getting the #1 seed), I'm just giving people something to think about.WBLHockeyfan04 wrote:Head to Head victories should be the first thing looked at when determining seeding. That's just my opinion, but my guess is many agree with me.

if Centennial would actually win games against good teams, then they would deserve the first seed. Lets look at their games against tough non conference opponents:WBLHockeyfan04 wrote:I probably would have given the #1 seed to Centennial. Loss vs Wayzata 2-4
Loss vs Bloom. Jeff. 2-9
Loss vs Duluth East 2-3
Win vs BSM 7-2
Tie vs Bloom Jeff
And now Blaine:
Win vs Roseau 5-4
Loss vs Tonka 3-4
Loss vs Edina 0-1
Win vs Hill-Murray 6-4
Win vs STA 4-1
Loss vs Edina 2-3
Tie vs Duluth East
So centennial is 1-3-1 vs tough non conference opponents
Blaine is 3-3-1
Blaine clearly has the stronger schedule and they have wins on top of that. Blaine also has a better conference record over centennial with only one loss. Centennial has two losses to Elk River and Maple Grove.
This is BEMIDJI STATE hockey.
