It likely was that way before, for that reason. How would you like working a tournement that your team is not playing??? I know that a regional in Bagley had the Bagley team in it as host, I believe they likely won in anyway....(it was bantam B and they had one team). But now it seems that the host is not always gaurenteed a seed. In VFW state tournement play, the host gets a seed.....I also heard once that the district host gets a seed to regionals?????D16Guy wrote:How about Peewee B's. Is it true only one team advances out of district 16 to regions because Crookston needs to have a host seed or else their parents won't work the tournament? Didn't they do the same thing with Bantam A's last year?
Why does district 15 get three seeds in some regionals???? In bantam A for instance, they have 6 teams...half the district goes to regionals.....possibly is it because they are hosting regionals??
Fair enough. Just thought that was likely the purpose of having a host seed.D16Guy wrote:Done it a number of times. If you can't run a tournament without a host seed don't bid on it. There are plenty of other towns in the district that will take it.defense wrote: How would you like working a tournement that your team is not playing???
So if this is right, Roseau and East Grand Forks are the Regional teams from District 16 in Bantam A???D16Guy wrote:www.roseauyouthhockey.com Gary's got em all

Correct, now they play on Sunday to see who gets the #1 and #2 seeds at region.defense wrote:So if this is right, Roseau and East Grand Forks are the Regional teams from District 16 in Bantam A???D16Guy wrote:www.roseauyouthhockey.com Gary's got em all

It is per the MH handbook...
The current rotation was over a 4 year period with each district getting 3 teams to regions in 3 years and a 4th year where they get 2 teams.
Next year this will change (probably back to the old maroon, gold, silver regional events).
D16 policy has always been that the region host can take an automatic bid into the regions, but hen cannot participate in the district play-off. This year Crookston took the pee wee B spot. EGF declined and played in the district tourney.
This policy is brought up at the spring and fall meeting every year and as of yet has anyone spoke to changing it. It is what the district wants so I let them have it.
This was fully hashed out on this site last year.
