Do the kids get in every other shift? Or every 3rd shift?

We allow 45 kids to register for each of the 3 Levels (95/96, 97/98 & 99/00)...usually 30 to 35 kids show up which, when divided up into 4 teams, puts 7 or 8 kids on each team.

The kids are instructed by the referee and the MIHC administrator who oversees dividing up the teams (each session the teams are different) to keep shifts under two minutes...the kids typically change one player at a time once they get tired or have been out on the ice too long.

These games are very informal. The kids police themselves and the ref is there to call penalties and to make sure the kids don't get out of hand. There is no checking and scores are not kept. It is all about being creative with the puck and having fun without consequences from adults.

So, to answer your question about shifts, there really aren't shifts. But, I can say that after a 90 minutes they are ringing wet, have met a new friend and had a good time.

Last email I received from them stated:
"We still could use a few more kids in the 99/00 age group, but the 95/96 and 97/98 groups are full or have room for one or two more."
