Did anyone see great improvement in your childs overall speed and quickness? Would you recommend it?

Speed Acadamy is a good camp for increasing stick handling skills and edge control and elevating your childs overall fitness (due to the intensity of the program), but increasing speed? MM could do a better job on teaching proper technique and posture. Your child will get faster with age and physical maturity, along with proper technique. It's hard to teach speed.

I agree. My son did it last summer and while his fitness and stickhandling improved, I saw no speed increase. He had the same form problems after as before.

If you want to see your kids speed improve and overall skating than I would suggest you take them to this program, imo the best skating camp in the state

I firmly believe overall speed & quickness is a god given gift, you either have it or you don't. Age also will change this but all the money in the world is not going to make your hockey player increase their speed & quickness to the extent anyone typically hopes for when spending money on programs like this.

Some players skating problems are so ingrained it takes a long time to fix. It is rare that you can correct it in a single camp. The skating treadmills can sometimes really help.

My kid came back faster with the puck. So, I would say it made a difference. Best camp we did last summer. My 2 cents.

My grandson has always been somewhat of a bent over skater. I thought he made some big improvements and did correct his posture last summer. I brought him every day because my daughter works and I liked the way they run it. I think it was worth it.

Two different programs. My boy has done both mulitple times. I would go back to both. In todays economy, if your looking for more bang for your buck I would look to MM. If you looking for more individualized instruction look to Pro-edge.

Speed Academy $595 gets you 32 hours of ice and 24 hours of dryland

Pro-edge $300 gets you 6 hours of on ice instruction.
