Stillwater at Park

Post by gophs16 »

Both teams coming off tough games Thursday and should be taking out their anger tonight. Could be a fun one to watch. Stillwater takes this one though. Word is that Stillwater is bringing out their JV goalie after a poor performance from Penella on Thursday.

I cannot see SW losing this one, but the Woodbury tie/loss has got to be a huge blow to the confidence. Ponies 5-3.

Park is sneaky. and will create few scoring chances, but will capitalize on a couple breakways/2 on 1 breaks.

Stillwater 4-2, but Ponies will outshoot Park 26-19..

2-2 after 2, two poor goals by park but stillwater really needs to pick up play. We will see a very physical third. Housleys got to get the boys going.

GFD had the score right, and knew Park was sneaky, but with the Ponies decent checking game, I am shocked at Park getting 34 shots..

Congrats to the Ponies goaltender. Was that his first action at varsity?

They may have had shots but none were real scoring chances. They had one that was a questionable high stick the other had eyes, it went through 9 guys before it reached the net Gordy never saw it. Park did have a couple of close ones.

Youngy goal is a goal come on, soft goal, puck had eyes, I think the score book just says goal! Thats why you drop the puck and play. Let me guess all Stilly goals were picture perfect!! Second period Park had several good scoring chances.

What the heck are you talkin about? The 1st goal was QUESTIONABLE one the second was shot from the point and went through a mass of 9 other players, saying it had "eyes" to make it through that crowd. Park had a few other chances that were bouncing around the front of the net that no one could get a handle on. Out of the 34 shots how many were scoring chances? Don't read more into it.

Bigger question, how do you allow Park 34 shots on goal??

Ummm, maybe the Park goalie dad was tallying the shots  ??? Just kidding, but I would have to agree with youngblood that there were not many true scoring opportunities. However, after the Woodbury gaff #-o(I mean game), it has become abundantly clear that the Ponies are still in need of a killer instinct.

I remember maybe 3-4 "real" scoring chances for park and the 2 goals were pretty ridiculous. Most shots from park came in the second but that period was about even. Other then that Stillwater dominated but spooge you are correct, they need to know how to put teams away.

Easy youngy even with the QUESTIONABLE goal Stilly still won the game. Out of the 18 shots in the second period there was about 3 to 4 scoring chances yes or no. See the game the right way for once. I guess the puck must of put sun glasses on and thats why Park didn't get anymore goals. Remember your still the man! :D 8)
