Not sure about your district but I don't think its a good idea to use win percentage from previous year to determine what level to skate. A lot of turn over year to year and there are bubbles of talented kids that may be ready for higher level even in small assoc. Just hope that assoc. takes an honest look at their teams and talent when determining what level to skate and not let ego's get in the waySneakyfast99 wrote:Just looking at the records of cinb A and B1 obviously they should have went b1 bantam and b2, and I would bet that the b1 teams of elk river and sauk rapids and centennial red and blaine could all take the cinb A team and or be very close games.....Remember B1 teams can team coached strictly like an A team with the right coach........look at some stats when the games are 8+ goals differential which there were many how much is cinb touching the puck, stickhandling, shooting, scoring and making plays working on breakouts etc. not much some kids probably touched the puck less than a minute a game how much development can that bring. and looking the fair play points I belive lost 6 to date are they penalties for tripping, hooking, slashing because of being under skilled to the big schools. maybe district 10 needs to put forth a protocol that you have to win a certain percentage of games to stay at a top level the next year. What issues are they facing??? are they still injured??
Even though CINB has only beaten one team in districts so far, SLP, They have been playing fairly competitive the last month or so.
Losing 5-1 to Rogers...6-3 to centennial and most recently 5-3 to princeton.
Would it have been better for these kids to play B1??? maybe...probably would have been in the top group of teams in districts, But i think my son has developed into a better player playing against the best kids in this district. At this age it is all about development Right?
Centennial did score an empty netter against CINB . They did miss another empty net goal by hitting the pipe...I over heard their Coach saying and i quote..." I can't believe we are only betting this team by 3 goals!" end quote. They were one penalty away from losing their fair play point! Sorry Blaine! We tried!
I only say this because we do respect the larger associations and it's nice when we can keep it close!! Good luck to all the teams come district tournament time! Should be some great Hockey!!
Looking forward to next year...

Good teams don't give up 2 goals in a minute to CINB!

None of the cinb kids asked for this. Even all the parents were against skating at the A level. We had 1 returning A player from the previous year. This is all on the associations. The evaluators even said we don't have an A team. we as parents all agreed!... I bet This team would do just fine against the top teams in B1. Win some, lose some...The kids are having fun even though they aren't winning much. That's what's most important. It is what it is and thank god the season is almost over.

Newbie goalie has been the biggest factor..... Although he is improving big time. Sure the top 4 teams are way better, but if you look at the scores the the games have become a lot closer. The forwards and defense are doing fine and if you added a stellar goalie they would be in the middle of the pack. AAA teams travel country to country for higher competition!!!??? Would skating B-1 and having their way with most of the teams been better for development? I've always gone by that if you want to get better playing something, play or practice against someone better. Centennial might get some help from Coon Rapids this week as they both play Andover. The way Centennial and Coon Rapids have been playing lately they could hand Andover 2 losses which would put them out of the race if Centennial keeps rollingcan'tbuymelove wrote:Well the season is winding down and it looks like Blaine and centennial will be going neck n neck down to the wire. mrbodangles, they would not have had their way in district 10 b1 level at all especially with a newbie goalie, obviously we'll never know but after watching every district A team play and most b1 teams in district 10 and out of district 10, they would have been about 500 and thats a fine place to be.....You set up scrimmages with the top b1 teams to add to the schedule and play top competition at b1 level.MrBoDangles wrote:Newbie goalie has been the biggest factor..... agreed centennial and coon rapids have both been playing a lot better however blaine has D10 wrapped up and will the automatic birth to regions while centennial, andover fight for the #2 seed and the rest fight it out to avoid these teams in the first round. This may be the toughest year top to bottom in the D10 tourney in a long time. Still not as difficult as D6 but a close 2nd.Nobodyonya wrote:Centennial might get some help from Coon Rapids this week as they both play Andover. Sounds like improvement to me........can'tbuymelove wrote:As predicted, CINB is struggling. Blame the board and associations for these kids to be playing up a level...Do they not want the kids to ever experience winning?? Unbelievable!!!
On the bright side, Lost 4-2 to Champlin Park. CINB had a 2-0 lead and gave up 4 goals in the second period. Improved play compared to first meeting
7-1 loss
Lost 8-0 To Blaine. Gave up 2 short handed goals and a defenseman had his pocket picked for another goal...Could have been 5-0
Hats off to Blaine coach for tossing his player #8 ( checking from behind)
No need for that when your up by multiple goals...
Improved play compared to first meeting 11-0,
Blaine is strong!
Blaine lost their Fair play point too. will hurt them in the end of season
point tally...
Up next for CINB - @ Princeton , @ Spring Lake Park...

Wow are you this negative around your kid? You obviously did not watch the CINB game against Champlin Park if you still think they shouldn't be A. I was there and I saw a dramatic change from the first time CINB played us. Why don't you go watch a B1 game and tell me if you still think your team should be B1. I heard the Coon Rapids game was really close too.

"My kid is having a blast" as it says.....can'tbuymelove wrote:Cowboy wrote:Are they playing at a competative level now????
On their own both associations could put a competative B1 team on the ice. The only benefit to a merge is to play at an A level and I don't think parents will be willing to fork over the money for another year like this. I am guessing there will be at least a couple more kids leaving the program because it just isn't fun anymore.
There are current board members who are hinting that the merge is done and there are enough angry parents that are planning on running for the board that feel the same. I would be surprised if any board members up for re-election are voted back in.
They are playing at a very competitive level right now.
Like Mrbodangles said earlier" would you rather play against your sister or your brother going off to play college" I see improvements in all the kids on this A bantam team. There are a couple kids who may be returning to this association merge next year who would definately help the A bantam team. BH and MO. But we will see.
My son is on the A bantam team and is having a blast, even though they aren't winning, That's all that matters to me right now is he loves this team. They might pull off another win or two before the district season is over... as far as a merge next year...only time will tell.

First of all there weren't MANY games with a 8 goal differential...4 to be exact. Second of all this CINB A team would be a lot better then .500 at the B1 level. The speed of the game is SOOO much faster at the A level. Why do you think the top kids are all on the top team? Bottom 5 kids on the A team are better then the top 5 on the B1 teams, If not pretty even. I'm not talking just about CINB, But all Associations. I saw the centennial Red team play and i can tell you that the CINB A team would do just fine against them and Centennial Red is ranked 7th in state...we only lost 6-3 against their A team and one of their goals was an empty netter...It was a pretty good game to say the least. 2-1 midway thru the second period. Whatever Sneakyfast....Sneakyfast99 wrote:mrbodangles, they would not have had their way in district 10 b1 level at all especially with a newbie goalie, obviously we'll never know but after watching every district A team play and most b1 teams in district 10 and out of district 10, they would have been about 500 and thats a fine place to be.....You set up scrimmages with the top b1 teams to add to the schedule and play top competition at b1 level. Keep in mind when you say the scores got better, some teams played certain goalies against this team some teams sat top lines to give back time to lines that were shortened in other games, and some teams facing fpp didn't even touch skaters as they went by to not lose thier point, that is some of the facts that people, parents and board members don't realize, see or care...just the way it is......and don't forget the times where def and forwards got switched up and must complete 5 passes before you shoot, this happened only a few times but it did.....MrBoDangles wrote:Newbie goalie has been the biggest factor..... Ill take your bait, first of all on your 8 goal differential games and a few 7's and a few 6's.....but with 30 goals for and 109 against, take that for what its worth, as far as the subpar teams princetons merge with becker is the best this team has ever done in district 10 at the A level. They didn't play A peewees last year or the year before (why cause they didn't have enough A players) so before you throw them into a sub par year, this is their best in 4 years winning two tournaments this year.....don't think cinb came close to even consolitation...correct me if I'm wrong, agreed champlin is doing their worst in the last 4 years, not typical of this team time will tell what happened anoka lost kids to high school but keep in mind they won triple the game you guys have so yes they should be at the a level.........can'tbuymelove wrote:What about Anoka and Champlin Park, Princeton? Not bad with a newbie goalie... We took 3rd in Hibbing Tourney...
I'm Not knocking Princeton, Just saying they are below .500. Pretty fast team. We were tied 3-3 going into 3rd period. We gave up a early 3rd period goal and we couldn't come back. Great game...pretty evenly matched. we lost 5-3
And oh by the way... we just beat Anoka 4-2 in their own tournament last weekend! We play them again this Saturday so we'll see.

mbd: there is a bit of difference with 75% of a team that are b1 level trying to play at an A level, than AAA teams traveling across the country, those AAA teams are all of equal elite ability (your top invite teams) and travel to get competition equal to their ability. Little different than winter season which some times carries such a mix of ability at certain levels.MrBoDangles wrote:Newbie goalie has been the biggest factor.....

You get better playing better competition. CINB is improving rapidly and are now playing well with the A-TEAMS.... Unlike the first half of the season. You should stop bashing your old team and get a life. Is the grass greener on the other side? It must eat you up inside since you have to come back and post about them.Sneakyfast99 wrote:mbd: there is a bit of difference with 75% of a team that are b1 level trying to play at an A level, than AAA teams traveling across the country, those AAA teams are all of equal elite ability (your top invite teams) and travel to get competition equal to their ability. Little different than winter season which some times carries such a mix of ability at certain levels.MrBoDangles wrote:Newbie goalie has been the biggest factor..... Just my opinionSneakyfast99 wrote: Just looking at the records of cinb A and B1 obviously they should have went b1 bantam and b2, and I would bet that the b1 teams of elk river and sauk rapids and centennial red and blaine could all take the cinb A team and or be very close games.....Remember B1 teams can team coached strictly like an A team with the right coach........look at some stats when the games are 8+ goals differential which there were many how much is cinb touching the puck, stickhandling, shooting, scoring and making plays working on breakouts etc. not much some kids probably touched the puck less than a minute a game how much development can that bring. and looking the fair play points I belive lost 6 to date are they penalties for tripping, hooking, slashing because of being under skilled to the big schools. maybe district 10 needs to put forth a protocol that you have to win a certain percentage of games to stay at a top level the next year. But every district has to deal with this is obviously not an easy task to deal with.

Anoka must not of wanted to lose their points.......can'tbuymelove wrote:First of all get your facts straight before you come on here spewing that trash! Cinb has 56 goals for and 168 against . Basically out scored 3-1Sneakyfast99 wrote:Ill take your bait, first of all on your 8 goal differential games and a few 7's and a few 6's.....but with 30 goals for and 109 against, take that for what its worth, as far as the subpar teams princetons merge with becker is the best this team has ever done in district 10 at the A level. They didn't play A peewees last year or the year before (why cause they didn't have enough A players) so before you throw them into a sub par year, this is their best in 4 years winning two tournaments this year.....don't think cinb came close to even consolitation...correct me if I'm wrong, agreed champlin is doing their worst in the last 4 years, not typical of this team time will tell what happened anoka lost kids to high school but keep in mind they won triple the game you guys have so yes they should be at the a level.........can'tbuymelove wrote: What about Anoka and Champlin Park, Princeton? They seem to be having subpar seasons at the A level?? Maybe these teams should have played B1 also,
Right sneakyfast?
Not bad with a newbie goalie... We took 3rd in Hibbing Tourney...
I'm Not knocking Princeton, Just saying they are below .500. Pretty fast team. We were tied 3-3 going into 3rd period. We gave up a early 3rd period goal and we couldn't come back. Great game...pretty evenly matched. we lost 5-3
And oh by the way... we just beat Anoka 4-2 in their own tournament last weekend! We play them again this Saturday so we'll see.
