I predict they will lose the last game they play.

Actually, this is a team that has surpised me a little this year. They have struggled for some time now and with the addition of East Ridge, I suspected that the struggle would continue and be even worse. But they have competed real well so far with 1 goal losses to Cretin, FL, and Tartan. Maybe Jay Moser is having a positive effect back at his former school. It will be interesting to see if they are able to get rewarded for their efforts or if things come apart as the losses mount. Good luck Wolfpack.

Don't forget the early-season win versus Woodbury, too..

So many of these teams are inconssitent -even..

For the good, there is also the Stllwater thumping of 6-3... A loss to Cloquet was not all that good, although Cloquet has played better as of late, but Park is only 2-7-1 on the year.

With that said, I fully expect Park to give WBL a good test on Thursday 1-7.

I just talked to a Park parent yesterday and maybe this isn't related to the HS team in this discussion, but he said that he has noticed a lot of positives in the youth hockey program at Park. He said they are really focusing on advanced skating skills even as young as the Mite level.

I agree the youth program is making better efforts to have all the coaches on the same page. In years past it was not like that at all.
I do feel that the High School will continue to struggle for years to come they have no scoring at any age, the one's that can make plays leave to go other places. Seeing what this years high school program is doing why wouldn't you leave?

Anyone recall a guy named Ingebrightson who played for these guys a few years back?

Pretty sad to see kids leave a school because of a sport. If the intent is to get a better education and play hockey as a bonus, that's one thing. But to leave for a sport is pretty sad. It's unfortunate it's happening and will continue to happen:(

I guess you haven't seen many programs in the state, if you make a comment like that.

LOL, not even close. There are a handful in St Paul alone that are on the rocks that Park is way above.

Sorry you feel that way 13. These boys work very hard and are very dedicated to their team and their coaches. They stay in the competition and have only had one or two blow out games. They keep their opponents on their toes. They are not in last place, so obviously they aren't the worst, and like WB said, have you looked at some of the St. Paul schools?

20rocks from what I have heard is players are leaving because players are unhappy playing for the coach, this kind of thing has been happening for years. Thats why Park changed coaches couple of years ago. Players didn't like to play for Lago. Sounds like it's happening again!

Wow, 2 shots in a row at the St. Paul school programs that are on the way down due to changes in demographics and economics. I'm willing to bet that the associations/teams that these 2 posters represent will never be able to match the what some of the St. Paul teams did during their glory days.

The original post regarding Park may be incorrect but what haven't they been able to put together a top notch program with the numbers they've had over the years? This isn't a slam on the players or teams but a question to the association as a whole as once the demographic wave passes you by you've missed your chance.

St Paul was a bad comparison choice, sorry about that. Definitely a different set of circumstances affecting your programs. I think if you compare Cottage Grove's situation to suburbs like Coon Rapids, Robinsdale, Brooklyn Park, all suburbs about the same size and age then I still think Park is doing pretty good. Their numbers are up there and I believe they are growing.

Now they have East Ridge HS to feed their players to so it should increase interest in Park Hockey.

BTW, who knows what the future holds? St Paul could very well make a comeback in hockey.
