Off-season training

Post by Pioneerprideguy »

Looking for some feedback on off-season training/camps for kids. Spefically, what people have used that were good or not so good. I have a squirt age player who has expressed a desire to skate this summer. Since it was his idea, I'd like to make it happen. If seen skating programs by Diane Ness and stick handeling clinics by Turcotte. Thoughts on these or others would be appreciate.

Any program where they skate once a week for the entire summer, as opposed to 5 hours a day for a single week, is better. The intense June or July week does very little for the players. They get sore and tired, can't give it their all for the week, and then are done and all is forgotten by the time tryouts roll around.

My two favorites have been MM "Summer on Ice" and Karn.
