Why is Hibbing not ranked?

Post by ryno44 »

Hibbing has beaten Moundwestonka, I Falls, should have beaten Warroad(lost 5-3), beat Lakeville north. There loses are to very good teams, except Chaska which shouldn't have been a close game at all.

The exact reason's they aren't ranked. Losses to Chaska and Armstrong and a tie to Mounds View. Those are games you need to win if you want to be ranked highly. I 100% agree with them not being ranked. Even with some tough losses against quality opponents 5-6-1 teams normally aren't in the top 20. If Hibbing can get on a streak you'll see them inch there way into the top 20 but as of now their on the outside looking in.

They have SIX losses after 13 games. Unless those six games were to the top AA teams in the state, no one would ever rank them.

The issue isn't that they're not good (which it looks like they may be from margin of losses), the issue is their number of quality wins; zero.

Bring that number up, they will go up. Period.

I think I-Falls and Lakeville North are quality wins but still 2 is not enough. Mound Westonka wasn't anything special even though their ranked and we'll see after their Albert Lea and Mayo games this weekend its pretty much Section 7 and IRC games down the home stretch and we'll see what their made of of.

Why don't you raise the "1st state appearance in school history" sign so we can see the score board.

We have banners on our side too and we can see the scoreboard just fine... especially last year when it said 7-1.

They beat Mound, not a big win. Chaska beat Hibbing and Chaska is not very strong this year, neither is Lakeville North. There is your answer.

I agree with ryno44 100%. Hibbing should definitely be ranked.

I'm sorry but a 5-6-1 record in class A right now is not good enough to be in the top 20. It just isn't. I think Hibbing has the potential to be a very good team this season and there's plenty of time for them to do that but as of now judging by record, quality of win, and whom they've lost to them being unranked is perfectly fine and right.

I guess i kinda see ur point but i would like to see hibbing get ranked in the future. There is plenty of time left in the season for them to step it up and get in some more wins.

Why is Hibbing not ranked??? Most likely because the haven't left the impression of being a top 15 or 20 team on anyone who does any ranking.

PS:
Don't worry about the Lets Play Hockey poll, not really geared toward teams from that area....ifyaknowwhatImean.....

i could read the results from your teams preformance at state too. Every game you have ever played down there your team has lost.
