Terrible game for Jags, great game for Wildcats. Every Jefferson player seemed off their game, especially the big studs. But I think it will be good for the Jags. Better now than in sections. They can learn from this one and come ready for each and every game, unlike the section championship last year. I thought there were questionable calls and missed calls that hurt Jefferson, but they still didn't play even close to as well as they did against Centennial and Apple Valley. The team is loaded with senior talent and surprising junior talent, and I wouldn't count them out of 2AA at all. In fact, I still think they'll win it. As for Eagan, they are much better than anyone has expected. I wouldn't count them out of the 3AA race, but we'll see as the season continues.
And High Flyer, the EV tender is really solid, but if Jefferson learned its lesson, I wouldn't count on them scoring under 6 goals on the Lightning.

How weren't they ready for the section final last year? Playing in front of a packed Mariucci crowd to go to state I would think the players would be pretty jacked up and ready. I think some of you need to accept the fact that Jefferson just wasn't that good last year, especially not as good as their record showed. Aside from Eden Prairie, they played no high caliber teams the whole season. I would've thought you guys would've realized that when they got the crap kicked out of them by Edina.toptitty96 wrote:Terrible game for Jags, great game for Wildcats. I think they walked through the entire season last year thinking that they were basically unbeatable. They had the one loss to EP, but I don't think it was a big wake up call like this loss will be. If you go through the season crushing every team by 5,6,7 goals, you might be a little too confident for a big game like the one vs. Edina. I think Jefferson was good last year, considering they got to the section final in one of the toughest sections in the state, and they beat EP in the regular season. And wasn't EP the eventual state champion? Everyone likes to question their easy schedule, but beating EP is not easy, so I really don't think you can take anything away from the team, especially when they went 26-2 on the season. And getting beat by Edina doesn't really show that they were a bad team, just that Edina was ridiculously talented. With Edina having the number of high caliber players that they had, they should be beating teams and going to state, and they probably should have won the whole thing, but blew it. And one last thing, was Moorhead not a high caliber team? Jefferson played and beat them, and if I remember correctly, Moorhead made it to state and took out Edina. Jefferson can't choose their conference, and I don't think that a Woodbury, Elk River, Hill Murray, or any other teams that you may consider to have been as good as Jefferson last yar, would have beat up on the Lake teams as badly as Jefferson did.Roseauverrated wrote:How weren't they ready for the section final last year? Toptitty you're right.
Roseau...he never said they weren't jacked up. But when you play low caliber teams all year with a few sprinkles of high caliber teams (by the way they beat the State Champions once out of two games...so you're right, they weren't THAT good) then when you face a beast of a team like Edina, their tempo might throw you off.

This game tonight could get ugly. Interesting coincidence that they play eastview at home right after their first loss this year. Last year eastview caught their rage after the first loss to ep. It was 12 nothing after 2 periods.theoneandonly1 wrote:We will see, if I remember correctly last year when these two teams played O'Shea was pulled in the 2nd period after giving up about 8 goals.High Flyer wrote:I think the Eastview goalie will handle whatever Jeff. throws at himespnmobile8 wrote:I was there cheering for the Jags and my goodness it was sloppy. Bad calls by the refs but also stupid plays by the Jags. That combo never helps teams out. If they play like that against a REALLY good team...it'd be awful.
I feel bad for Eastview, though. I have a feeling Jefferson is going to let loose some anger on them.
she sure got ugly in a hurry. So much for Eastview's goalie handling whatever Jefferson threw at him, eh?deanertronterry wrote:This game tonight could get ugly.
