Blaine jr gold A
From what i have seen so far this year Blaine Bengals have been over looked and in my opinion are a top 10 team, possibly top 5. From looking at their scores they have handled some of the top teams already early in the season (tonka, EP, wayzata, Duluth). i was able to watch them in the spirit tourny and i was very impressed. They have 3-4 varsity players and solid D, and one of the top goaltenders in the league . Look out for blaine this year, they are a whole new team.

I have yet to watch a game this year, but I've played with many of these kids in the past, I think 4 were JV last year who all could be playing some varsity this year, other than that mostly kids who played on the team last year. No superstars really but, solid players, and Schorn the goalie, I've never played in the winter with him because of age differential but I know he is a solid goalie, and he can move quicker than you think.
Blaine
Blaine is going to get their share of wins this year. They have played some strong teams out of the gate and played very well. But, they have yet to win a game against a perennial top 5 team:
Tonka: 3-4 Loss
Wayzata: 0-1 Loss
EP: 5-5 Tie
So, are they a top 10 team - definetly.
Are they in the top 5 - not quite yet.
They need to break into the win column against teams like Edina, EP, Wayzata, Wessy's and/or Tonka. They are on everyone's radar right now. Don't take this team lightly...

Blueblood is correct.
It's nice to see a team from lower in last year's pack join the highly competitive group of JGA teams.
As I have said before, many JGA teams will simply go thru the motions this season. Those who focus on team play, keep working hard & improve will play in the final 4 in March.

yes, though it's early, this squad has been more than impressive this year. seeing that they are keeping up with the best teams in the state and finishing 2nd in their first tourny. 4 of their players (2-J. Marshal (C), 18-D. Lambert (C), 17-T. Penn, 1-N. Schorn) are former high school players that have exceptional talent and are looking to be top players in the state this year at the JG level. (not 100% sure why they didn't make/play h.s. this year...?)
Should be a very solid year for the Bengals. Good Luck guys!

Re: Blaine jr gold A
I'm gunna have to disagree with ya on this one UMD, the Blaine team is a very well rounded team with very solid defense and an exceptional goaltending, however they cannot seem to score a goal in games against the teams that are not as skilled...in my opinion, if they shot the puck more and back check more to cover the back door they would be a deadly team to face....any input lemme know what u think about them also.UMDhockey15 wrote:From what i have seen so far this year Blaine Bengals have been over looked and in my opinion are a top 10 team, possibly top 5. well looks like the blaine team was a one hit wonder when i watched them up in duluth. they need to get their #@*! together if they wanna get back in the rankings. i thought they would run the whole season undefeated from what i saw. they just need to figure out whats going on, cause they definatly have the talent to cause some damage.
