You can be 15-19 years old for Jr Gold (but in HS)
16 & younger after July 1 1993 for U16
But it could be your association choice to put 16 & younger players on U16 team

Thanks for the info! I actually just received a call from the coach and he explained to me that they have to take the older kids first and then it's kind of a pecking order by age so my son and a few others were the youngest eligible for Junior Gold A but they have to play U16 to make room-something like that.

Regardless, it's hockey and that's all that matters right?

they would get hurt if a 13/14 year old were to play in jrg or u16 they would not fare well
