Who will be the stand out team in this section? Lots of talent and good teams in this section.

It's about time someone talks about this section. Such a talented section STA SSP SLP mahtomedi tg. I know tg has had issues and sta is always stacked, slp has some up and coming players with great defense. Mahtomedi will always be good. I think sections will be sta ssp slp mahtomedi tg and than whoever. But its a preseason poll. I'm very open minded. Things will change

Obviously St Thomas Academy is the team to beat in this section. After that though the next four teams are pretty close. South St Paul, Mahtomedi, Totino Grace, and Spring Lake park are all going to be close in talent. I heard that Spring Lake Park beat Mahtomedi in a scrimmage up north this weekend, however I also heard that Zurn and Marshall are out with injuries. Still an impressive win for Park though. Totino will have big shoes to fill without Delisle but should be solid again this year. Should be interesting come March.

sta and ssp will be the teams to beat. That's a big win for park but Marshall is mahtomedi. And saying tg has shoes to fill is true, but what about park? Tg lost in a scrimmage to sta by 1. They lost delisle. I'm 80% sure park lost two players that contributed to about 75% of their goals? Sounds like slp is in trouble. Even though I've always been a fan of park. Always the underdog.RBKhockey77 wrote:Obviously St Thomas Academy is the team to beat in this section. After that though the next four teams are pretty close. well im glad somebody on here is honest, you have my respect. i know tg lost a lot of talent and their coach this year is being kind of a dumbass i hear anyway, but section 4a is a dominate section regardlesstgeagles wrote:sta took it easy on my squad and sat a lot of their good players I think they were using it for a tryout or something. Tg will be lucky to finish 4 in their conference. they have no scoring. good defense but on offense they seem really small and are no real threat!!!!

If you are a fan of the underdog dont count out Chisago Lakes this year. I hear they got rid of the problem players and will put together a decent team. I'm not saying they will win the section, but dont count them out of big games.

I won't count them out but won't take them seriously. Last season they were horrendous. But I will give you the benefit of the doubt. We'll see.

You should wait until you start winning games before saying stuff like this. I remember last year a certain St. Paul Academy team beat Chisago in a packed stadium by a decent margin. Considering neither team was a contender in the section then, it would be strange to see a completely revamped, revived, and head-turning team this year. It isn't as though the other programs sat on their hands all summer. Also, Chisago concluded their season with a 10-1 loss to St. Thomas. That's a pretty considerable difference to make up.
