I believe WBL and HA tied. WBL beat Osseo don't know score. Not sure of Osseo HA heard Osseo won
I was at the WBL / AHA but late. I saw it was 2 - 2 after the game, but someone told me before I got there it was 2 - 1 AHA, so AHA 4 WBL 3. Not confirmed.
As far as the Osseo AHA, when I left it was 2 -1 AHA.

What were these? 30 minute run-time periods, just one period, or how long were these games?? Couldn't be full games, were they??

The scrimmages in Elk River were two 25 minutes running periods. Penalties were blown dead and players sent to benches. No power plays. Scores were not on scoreboard. Thought the ER-AHA was very good game. Very fast game with each team having some good chances.

nhl_combine wrote:I heard of one happening up in Warroad and Roaseau this weekend. I don't know any specifics, but I believe those two teams, Lake of the Woods, and some smaller suburban schools near the cities are participating.

Anyone got anything on this?

--------------

There were several teams that were part of this. They were 45 minute clock time scrimmages ref'd by coaches.

Warroad, Roseau, Cambridge-Isanti, Little Falls, St Michael-Albertville, Lake of the Woods, Kittson Central, East Grand Forks, Grafton ND, Grand Forks RR and Grand Forks Central.

Best team I saw play was Grand Forks Central.

These are the only scores I know of. And they may not be the exact scores but they're close.

LOW 2 STMA 1
Roseau 1 STMA 0
Grafton 5 STMA 2
Grand Forks Central 9 STMA 0
LOW 0 STMA 0
Warroad 1 or 2 STMA 0

I believe Warroad held out some of their top players, not sure about Roseau.

I also believe Grand Forks Cental beat Warroad pretty good.

Thanks to the folks in Warroad, Roseau and Baudette for putting this event on.

To the best of my recollection:

Centennial - 5 Eden Prairie - 0

Jefferson - 2 Blaine - 0

Centennial - 1 Duluth East - 1

Centennial - 2 Jefferson - 0

Sorry I can't remember any of the other matchups. Blaine was in a coma their first game. It was early but they had no energy. They looked a little better the second game. Centennial looked pretty strong. Duluth East looked strong. EP did not look good at all but i heard they were missing a few kids because of football. Jefferson looked decent but it wasn't hard to skate around Blaine that first game.

Bjugstad was a non factor the first game but played better the second game and I think he accounted for all of Blaines scoring the second game.

Scorers for Centennial were Brunn with 3 goals, Huffman with 2 goals, T Hughes, J Hughes, and Flynn with a goal each.

Centennial looks like they may be an early favorite. Nice weekend of hockey. How many EP kids are on the football team? Anyone have any of the scores from Buffalo?

Blaine 2 EP 2
EP 2 Duluth East 1

EP did not play their top line in the early scrimmage against Centennial. No one else was missing (physically) due to football..

Don't you guys think this whole string is kind of a joke... Most if not all of these scrimmages are tryouts. There is a reason why they don't post the scores on the scoreboards... meaningless so I am not sure why they are posted here if they are even accurate. Many of these teams don't skate their top returners but rather are evaluating the new kids trying to make the teams... IMHO

BRECK???

Post by hockey99vs87 »

Is breck that good? are they AA or A this year. I thought A might give old STA a run for the money, assuming STA steps it up this year? Impressive start.

Other than maybe Schneider (goalie, not sure if he's on hockey team?) no one. Most of the talent will be there, except of course the only with a d1 scholarship.

Look for Barbato to get d1 interest, only a junior, maybe Neil Bartholomew (spelling) too.

Other than Alt, I am not sure. The number 5 came from an assistant coach at Cretin though.
