7AA in 09-10

Post by TheHockeyDJ »

Who do you think will compete for the ship? What teams will be better next season? I think it will be more competitve top to bottom. Probably East, Elk River, Grand Rapids, and Andover will be the best, and Cloquet should be improved, right?

7AA

Post by northwoods oldtimer »

I hear that Greenway is coming back to 7AA and at 4:00 PM it will be officially announced for all you dunder heads. With Pat Guyer coming back to Coach Greenway expect good things. Them boys from East, Meyers. Forbort, Repensky, Klun, Welinski will join the ranks of the Green Machine along with Decenzo and Bugliosi from Hibbing and Moore and Skrbec from Grand Rapids to form the greatest hockey team Minnesota has ever assembled. Expect to see a couple ringers coming from Moorhead and Roseau too. How do I know this you ask? Well I heard it with my own oldtimer ears at the bar just last night. Take it to the bank boys you heard ut straight right here on the best forum for hockey where truth and nothing but the truth is passed along from blogger to blogger. Take this one to the bank fellows it is all but a done deal. :o

Note to all 7AA hockey fans(perfect scenario has happened): The weekend the semi-finals are at the DECC next season (Feb. 27), the Gophers are at the Bulldogs that same weekend (26, 27). Should be an awesome weekend of hockey at the DECC!!!

On paper, Elk River. However, East just seems to be a machine, and I am sure next year will be no exception. I am sure they were loaded on JV this year, so many of those kids will be able to fill a roster without many returners.

Tickets for the Gophers v. Bulldogs game went on sale this week if anyone is interested. Should be a great day of hockey.

Elks had a strong team last year, and have a lot of talent coming back. Although East is going to be a totally different team so Elk River, heads up. The hounds are hungry this year with a lot of new kids who know how to play. East coming out of section 7AA no doubt

It is going to be a couple interesting coming years in grand rapids. with a younger team, i believe that it will be something to watch as these players become better. with that being said, i am gonna have to say that it is not going to be a big winning year for GR, but will still be above .500. i wouldnt be surprised to see returning seniors to put up good numbers either :)

Somewhat, yes. They won't have a great year, but it's hard to go lower than they went last year, and they'll be the team no higher seed wants to draw in sections. I don't think they have a real shot of winning the section, but they are capable of beating anyone in it if enough things go right.

East has Lutzka who is a good talent but he is more of a grinder imo he gets alot of garbage goals... But in the end a goal is a goal. I dont know much about there goalie in Jenneta but the loss of forbert to greener pastures is going to hurt.. It kind of reminds me of the time they lost fairchild but back then Cloquet and Rapids had much better teams this definitely a section to keep your eye on as always
