My point is that the good ol' days weren't as good as some are remembering. I had a coach 30 years ago that made us repeat every practice, "What you see here, say here, hear here, stays here when you leave here." I can no longer remember the Krebs cycle or the preamble to the constitution (except for bits of the song from School House Rock), but I'll never forget the first rule of closed door practice. I'll also never forget the 8th grade football coach who grabbed my buddy by the face mask and yanked it so hard his helmet came off his head, to 'get his attention'. I'll also never forget that the elementary school vice principal had a paddle with holes drilled into it for less wind resistance; he didn't use it as a deterrent, he used it to make you cry because your butt hurt real bad, unless you were dumb enough to put your hand back there, then your hand and butt hurt real bad.
holy cow your ARE old, I think corporal punishment was outlawed in schools by the time I got there, although I do remember losing our elementary school teacher to prison "LSD, LSD....Mr. Kelley makes it, all the teachers take it, why can't we? why can't we?"

I also wish they would make the change to tag-up offsides...There would be WAY fewer whistles and offsides, LET THE KIDS PLAY!!!!

You bet, enough with all hooking and holding and interference whistles, too. A 15 minute period should only take 15 minutes to play, regardless of the quality of hockey. LET THE KIDS DUMP AND CHASE!!!

I don't think that would be the end result. I've watched plenty of youth summer AAA games over the years where there is tag-up offsides, and I've never seen an increase in the number of times the puck was dumped. What I see is better overall flow to the game.

At the very least, I'd like to see tag-up offsides used at the Bantam level....

Bump. If this was a "tag-up" thread, I would not have to interrupt the flow and bump this post!

Bantam level would be great.
BUT...
USAH has to make the change...
MH has no control...
MH did voice support for this at the summer USAH meeting...
but to no avail.
