Who says they need to be USA Hockey affiliated? In the not to distant past, there were private school teams for youngsters that weren't affiliated with MN Hockey or USA Hockey.auld_skool wrote:SSM IS affliated. Will D6 end support of St. Thomas Bantam B team?

I can most definitely read, and I was responding to you when you said:auld_skool wrote:No one said that if you can read.muckandgrind wrote:

My response is basically, "who cares about USA Hockey?" They can't tell a school or a group of schools that they CAN'T form their own league. They can only tell them that they won't be affiliated with them.I'm saying I don't think USA Hockey would allow private schools to form their own league in MN in the winter, if it were possible I think it would have been done already...although I could be wrong.

You said "NEED" in your first post so I responded to that. No one said they NEED USA Hockey affiliation. I merely suggested that a league WITHOUT USA Hockey affiliation would have a hard time getting off the ground here in the winter. Minnesota Made's Choice league proves that it's not impossible however. (I'm assuming they're not affliated.)
Obviously, anyone can start their own hockey league any time they like. Good luck to you if you try.

Now that there isn't a St. Thomas Bantam B team this year how many St. Thomas hockey players registered to play Bantam hockey with Sibley, the youth association where the school is located? Some may have also chosen to return to their geographical community with their one time exception to the new residency rule.
How many PeeWee players?
Should help Sibley as their numbers, and the strength of the teams, seem to have been on the decline. Can anyone from Sibley update us as to how many new players they have picked up? I know some of the associations on the west side of town have picked up players from the privates in their geographic community.
