The answer absolutely he will see a Gopher uniform.
One selection committee and one weekend doesnt make careers.
Go look through old threads they have been out there for years, Blake Wheeler never made the final national camp. He not only wore a Gopher uniform he now could be a Clader Cup winner. Hobey Winner this year never at a national camp or drafted now he is Hobey, Final Four Champ and one of the most wanted free agents ever. Why would not being picked for one tournament take away from everything he has done and how very good of a hockey player he is. Mark your post in 3-4 years you will be congratulating him for being a key player in the Gophers program.
If not remind me I was wrong but I dont think so on this one. I would be shocked.
He better play better than he did two weeks ago.

Any ways Flat on the ice remind me in 2-3 years if I am wrong.
He is to good just to get written off ove r1 weekend.
Not writing him off. He is a very good player but did not play well at all in this "tryout".

I don't know why they would, but maybe the scout who wrote the report is focusing on less scouted players? The Minnesota contingent is pretty well known at this point.Hoops wrote:I see the 16's are out in NY....after 2 days of games a scouting service has not noted any of the MN boys in their top 20 notables...fyi.
Anywho, Molenaar is leading all defensemen with three goals. Horn, Bahe, and Boyd all have three points in their first two games. McNeely has the 2nd best SV%.
I think the 1993's will pan out to be a fine group.
Good stuff..where did you find this info..online somewhere? The Exiled One wrote:I don't know why they would, but maybe the scout who wrote the report is focusing on less scouted players? BOTH goalies from Minnesota at the 16's are looking good so far. They are in the top 3 (out of 20) based on saves percentage and tied for 1st on goals against average.Hoops wrote:I see the 16's are out in NY....after 2 days of games a scouting service has not noted any of the MN boys in their top 20 notables...fyi.Doglover wrote:Good question on alternates - has anyone seen a list for either 16 or 17's?

Player..................GP....G....A....Pts
Cason Hohmann .. 5....1....8....9
Dan Molenaar ...... 6....7....1....8
Christian Horn ..... 6....6....2....8
Ben Bahe ............ 5....4....4....8
Travis Boyd ......... 6....3....5....8
There are only two games left, and of the top 5 scorers, 4 are from MN.
Leading goal scorer is Molenaar.
Not too shabby.
(that was easy to format.)

Mr Bojangles dont just comment on what you read. Dig in do your research. Issacson did end up getting invited and guess what he was selected for Team USA that was picked to go to Europes Ivan Hilinkas 7nations Tournament the best summer u18 tournament in the world.
You cant even coompare the 2. Benik should have left home for the USHL or at least played in the Elite Leaguem, so he may have a chance to go in next year.
Your like 3 months behind on your comments.
OK you pass on leaving your family, buddies, teammates, school, senior year, garduation cerimonies, prom yada yada yada. I can buy that it makes sense in a lot of ways to do this those things are important . But then you dont; not play in the elite league your senior year when you just became the alltime goal scorer in the states history, go prove yourself against the states best. And dont even say Jr B hockey not only doesnt compare to the elite league as some people have or is better.
If thats the case Joey shouldnt go back and play for St Francis he should play for the Owls all year.
Anyways Good Luck he is a MN kid and wish them all the best

Benik was chosen right away from tryouts Isaccson wasn't ( was the point ) I like the fact that Benik has stuck it out with off the hockey map St Francis....... What if Isaccson would have stayed at off the hockey map Pine City? I could bet the farm he would also be struggling to get any credit for his skills. Money, family, girlfriend, brother???? Who knows!!! All I can tell you is he is a class act and doesn't deserve the crap. Try not to be so simple mindedbehonestbenice wrote:Mr Bojangles dont just comment on what you read. Seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same! In the old days, all we would hear of is players from the best hockey schools, now with all the portable communication, we hear about more outstanding players, some from small, non traditional hockey schools, but the ones from the traditional powers are still always the most highly touted.MrBoDangles wrote:Benik was chosen right away from tryouts Isaccson wasn't ( was the point ) I like the fact that Benik has stuck it out with off the hockey map St Francis.......
