how is andy welinski offered a spot in ann arbor but not on the Minnesota 16's team. sounds like you have to be buddy buddy with the evaluators to make these teams. If Ann Arbor wants you, you're the top of you age group in your own state.

Actually it isn't the same names. Seven are returning and seven are new at least for the 17's. Pretty surprised that Isackson isn't on the list. I thought he would be an automatic. Well I guess no one is a shoe in.

Welinski has some very good upside. I think Ann Arbor sees this "potential" in him. I think the final 54 evalutions where not based on a players potential.

Wow will Christian not see a Gopher uniform?
The answer absolutely he will see a Gopher uniform.
One selection committee and one weekend doesnt make careers.
Go look through old threads they have been out there for years, Blake Wheeler never made the final national camp. He not only wore a Gopher uniform he now could be a Clader Cup winner. Hobey Winner this year never at a national camp or drafted now he is Hobey, Final Four Champ and one of the most wanted free agents ever. Why would not being picked for one tournament take away from everything he has done and how very good of a hockey player he is. Mark your post in 3-4 years you will be congratulating him for being a key player in the Gophers program.
If not remind me I was wrong but I dont think so on this one. I would be shocked.

What am i missing here? Why the shortend line up? 14 players? 2lines 2sets of D? And 1 tender? Why not a FULL lineup? Is this part of a master plan? This is the kind of thing that has many of us smelling the stench of under handedness and unfairness. If i were handling these teams, they would have the maximum number of players and then some, so they all could reap the benefits and gain from the experience. who are they saving for? Be upfront. Shouldnt have anything to hide because this is supposed to be about the kids!

Is Hill going to be that good? Four players on the 16s national team?

I dont know any of them, or how they play before you accuse me. I just find it odd that a team could have that many solid 93's. More power to them I guess.

To the same token, there aren't any major snubs on the list. Maybe the 17s should have taken a few more player, imo, but so it goes. No glaring holes in the teams which we ought to expect out of the all star team from the state of hockey.
Stay Classy, Minnesota.

Also surprised to see so many HM kids on 16 roster.

But Papa...don't be so sure there weren't several snubs!

Three of those four Hill Murray kids were on last year's Adv 15 roster for Nationals.

Just remember with the new transfer rules, they have to recruit much earlier now to get them to transfer their freshman year so they can play varsity right away and not have to sit out a year.

I think DL is correct. The strength of the RED 16 D resulted in an advantage to average Red 16 forwards and resulted in the evaluators to over value RED forwards and undervalue the other two teams forwards. Accordingly, I think they got 70% of the forwards right and close to 90% of the D right. It is very clear they didn't check High School stats because some of the final kids selected performed poorly over a 25 game High School schedule...

They also should have picked 12 forwards and 8 D, 10/6 is too tight. Kind of stupid not to do this and particularly after they advertised 20-24 kids... Hope there are no pissed off lawyer dads... 8)
