Is the 2000 Machine team for real? They beat the 99 Icemen and the 99 CCM Capitals or are these teams not realy AAA teams?

Help me if I am confused, but don't you have to play a team in order to beat them?

I can assure you that the 99 monopoly is really a AAA team.

Skillguy -- The 2000 Machine played the 1999 CCM Capitals out of Plymouth, not the CCM Monopoly out of Rogers and Competitive Edge, and also beat the 1999 Icemen.

Since you brought it up, have the 99 CCM Monopoly had any recent scrimmages? Scores to provide?

Manchild, that looks better.

I know the 00 machine beat the ccm capitals 10 to 6. What was the score of the 99 icemen game?

I see the quote now... manchild used the edit function pretty effectively... but the quote in my first post is what prompted me to respond.

I caught their recent scrimmage with the 99 Edge. The 99 edge is a very strong team (not 99 machine or 99 blades, but not too far off, I heard they beat the 99 deuce 2 out of 3 last year). The edge won 7 to 2 but in my opinion the biggest difference in the game was how the edge played as a team and the Monopoly struggled to do so and this is because the Edge team is pretty well in tact from last year, while the monoply is basically a new team. As they play together the Monopoly should close that gap.

the '99 Icemen is a very weak team and part of the reason is how late this team was formed and lacked available '99 talent when putting it together. The Icemen has a good program but this team is more of a open '99 team. The '00 Icemen are young and pretty weak as well, more of a developmental team.

I'll be curious how the '00 Machine fair in the Meltdown against the other '00 teams. I noticed there is only 5 teams in this division which is not a good number for any tourney. They should have allowed a few teams that entered in the open division to play in this. Problem is you don't know which '00 teams are strong. Looking at the '00 open Meltdown tourney you would think some of the Canadien teams, JR. Badgers, CCM, or the Miracle could have played in the invite bracket. The Manitoba teams are usually solid programs as well as the Jr. Badgers and CCM just hammered the Sting 8-0. Why does Easton play in the Invite over some of these teams? the '99 Easton teams got hammered in the invite last year. After the Meltdown is complete you'll be able to see which are the better '00 teams.

Having been around the AAA scene for a long time, I can tell you that there is still ALOT of available '99 talent. In fact, if you compare the rosters of these teams today and four years from now you will see alot of turnover. It's s little early to be making definitive statements about the talent level of '99 and '00 teams. Get back to me in 2-3 years after some of these kids plateau and others catch up in development.

You ask the question "why does Easton play in the invite over some of these teams"? Simple answer: It's their tournament.

It's a Showcase tourney and yes I know Easton is under the showcase umbrella but so is other teams like the Sting, Jr. Wild, Jr. Gophers, Vipers, etc and so is CCM. My point is they put in Easton in the invite tourney where they're no better then some of the other teams I mentioned. Look at the scores from the '99 invite both Easton teams got hammered pretty good.

I also saw this scrimmage and was very impressed with the Edge team. Had lots os skill but played really played as a team. I say this as a parent of a player on the Monopoly team. I am new to this AAA stuff so if they are not Machine or Blades level I am excited to see those teams play. I thought the Edge were really good.
