Being a JGB fan, I decided to drive 30 minutes to Rochester (wont tell city so i cant be traced!!) to view the JGB state tournament this weekend. What i came upon was great hockey. All teams played with class, save one. ( will elaborate later)
Edina Green -Wayzata Gold. Edina Green should have won this game but Wayzata's goalie stood on his head. Kudos to him.
Maple Grove- Lakeville was a close game until the third period.
Roseville- WBL Orange, a hard fought victory in a big rivalry game.
Edina White-IGH was a great game and IGH really stepped up big in the final 2 periods after coasting through the third.
Lakeville Wayzata Gold was another great game. Wayzata Gold probably outplayed Lakeville the first two periods but lakeville came out with the W. The disgusting part of this game was when Lakeville players were taunting. From what I've heard they don't even have a JG A team so they should be winning the state championship every year. To the commissioner of JGB, I feel you need to have a talk to the classless coach, Scott Orrey. Not only are you robbing kids in lakeville of their hockey career's, your also cheating the rest of JGB of an oppurtunity for a state championship and taking away the overall competition; the best part of sports. So Congratulations to Lakeville, just next year please play with some class, as you failed to do earlier in the tournament.

We play Lakeville tomorrow... I obviously hope to come out with the 1st place trophy. I have been to both of Lakevilles games and saw the low class that Dynarell was talking about. When Lakeville scored against those teams they would skate and taunt by the opposing bench. i am a senior. third year jgb player and i have never seen a team as low as lakeville. they won last year and dominated all teams this year. except IGH and maybe in the Wayzata game. with that being said, move up to JGA you pansies.
I guess they play with low class to make up for low skill. Ive noticed that they hit high and late. #19 with the red cap did it most of all. I liked seeing #15 of wayzata shove him into the net and he fell over like a little woman. #16 from wayzata is one of the smaller kids on the team and made some of their players look like his bitch. If the refs call a good game then we will win.

Ive heard rumors of #87 of lakeville getting Division-1 offers from many teams. i have two problems with this.
A. he is the slowest @$$clown ive ever seen!!!(see urbandictionary.com)
B. wouldn't be suprised if he wore an @$$hat (see urbandictionary.com for picture)
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=asshat

good luck in the game tomorrow. I hope it is a well fought game for both teams.[/url]

I also made the drive down to watch some good hockey. And I saw it. As for the comments on Lakeville. First, I believe we have beaten a dead horse on whether they should have an a team or not. But, I will some it up. Firts, they have 2 varsity and 2 jv teams and 1 jr gold b. Most of the other cities have 1 varsity and 1 jv which allows them to have at least 1 jr gold a and a jr gold b or 2. Plus, my understanding is that they don't know who they will get from the varsity coaches until they have already decided on their level. I don't think they cut anybody, so this is all the kids that wanted to play hockey.

On the second subject,it was a close contest for most of the game. Both teams were hitting high and late. The refs let it get a little out of hand. I don't know how many times players were pulled off of goalies. I hate seeing defenseless goalies run over. When Lakeville starting pulling away at the end, I would have liked to see a little more restraint but we are talking an important game and teenagers.

It is true that they have 2 varsity and 2 JV, but that is because they have two full sized schools, both north and south are bigger than wayzata, so they have twice as many kids and twice as many high school teams, but only one jr. gold team

Should Lakeville play at the A level?

Look at the history, this season, and the future plan and tell me if you would handle it differently.

When Lakeville had one school they had enough Jr. Gold players for two teams, they had a A team and a B team.

History after the second high school opened.
1st year - Need to get players from other association to form a team, took 5th in state as a B team.
2nd year - B team - didn't make it out of districts, less than .500 record.
3rd year - Picked up a few good players cut from the high schools, won state as a B team.
4th year (2008-2009) - Picked up a few good players cut from the high schools, only had 12 kids for the first practice, went out and got three former players that hadn't played for a year or two (including the goalie).
Have had a great year with four losses and are playing WBL for state today.

The plan has been and will continue to have a B team until we have enough for two teams again then go back to a A and B team.
Here are a couple of reasons for doing this.
1. Play at the level where the majority of the players belong. We have many Bantam C players on the team.
2. Our B team is our fifth team in Lakeville. In many communities the B team is the fourth team behind Varsity, JV, & A.

Woodbury & Hastings have two B teams and no A team. I didn't hear any complaining about these two associations or about Lakeville when they were losing.

The personal attacks on the coach and the players on this thread are flat out wrong. If you have a problem with Lakeville bring it to the association. Scott Orrey is the kind of man and coach any team would be lucky to have. I apologize if some of the actions of some of the young men have displayed. While there is no excuse for the type of action, it is not limited solely to the Lakeville players. Trash talk is common, read posts from this website, look at the action of some of the coaches (even at the banquet this and last year (incest & we're the best).

Lastly, the kid from Lakeville that some of you have called the "fat kid" is not playing hockey after this year. As far as him being slow, the fat kid keeps on scoring, I'd think some of you speedsters could catch him.

First to the attacks on my coach. There isn't a more classful coach in the leauge. If u are calling him classless then you are obviously ignorant to the topic.

To the trash talking against wayzata we did that only because of how much crap they talked about us this year. They took every chance they could to talk crap about us and they are only complaining because they lost. Every other team would agree that if it was the other way around wayzata would have been givin me crap because they already have before.

And I wouldn't doubt if these ppl who say they drove down aren't just the wayzata kids again. it was a close game but we took off in the third cuz we ran three lines the whole time and weren't tired.

I don't care if u immature ppl who have nothing better to do rip on me or other players but back off of my coach. He has the most class in the game.

If any coach doesn't have class it's wayzatas for lettin his kids make his team look cocky and become the most hated team on the state by the stuff they said on the forum.

If any I'd you ppl who "drove down" have any questions or just want to rip on lakeville come up to my team today and ask for me I'll answer anything

This is me from Wayzata.
First of all thanks for a great tournament for all teams and the banquet was also great. Lakeville's coach did nothing wrong so i couldnt really call him classless. Their players did taunt but it was a big game. i think fans and players from lakeville could agree that the first two periods it was a very even game and in the third period lakeville took advantage of two wayzata mistakes and put the game away. Not sure where on here where we complained about the loss

we're a third period team tho we won all our games in the third even todays we were down 2-1 going into the third then we outplayed them in the third and our stud perfected the datsyuk on a penalty shot.

For real this was fun again WBL is good i didnt know they where that good it was a intense game and so was wayzatas game.

That move was pretty sick. Amazing that he pulled that off in such a key situation.

I was so nervous, but somehow stuffed it 5-hole.

To the WBL team great game you guys, you outplayed us for a majority of the game and he just got some lucky bounces and made the best of them, Thank you for being part of one of the funnest hockey games i have ever played. You guys had a great season also. Congrats to WBL and everyone else in the state tournament. It was a very fun and competitive tourney.

You know what i dont like at all, is the Sauce coming on here, and standing up for himself.. I know that sauce is the coach by other posts i saw on this forum. I don't want to be mean, but if you want to stand up for yourself at least admit that you are the coach, not a player or what you tried to be. I know you were the coach by whenever you answered a igh coach when he called you a class act... SAUCE= Lakeville coach. just clearing that up for everyone.. i bet you feel like this one

im definatly not the lakeville coach and EVERYONE on here knows that Drew14 your dumb. I'm number 5 and no way would my coach dignify those accusations with a response only i would.

Plankton i meant that when you said it was a even game in the first i was sayin no you guys killed us in the first. Shots were like 8-2 at one time in your favor so i was saying that you guys outplayed us. i meant it to be a compliment haha

OK here is my unbiased opinion:

Lakeville is the best JGB team in state, no doubt. Back-to-back state wins means it's time for them to move up to "A" though.

WBL played a great game yesterday, going up 2- zip was tremendous - just came up a bit short against a better team.

The Beast for Lakeville is the best JGB player in state. Somebody buy the kid a new pair of breezers though so he can quit playing in a skirt. Seriously though he is a man among boys with a NHL quality shot.

Edina Green and Whinezetta are the next best teams after Lakeville and WBL.

Hey how did Burnsville finish at JGB State this year?
Did they at least get to work the concession stand or park cars maybe?

Dangle Tank was the best player in JGB i dont think anyone was questioning that. I would also have to say that he seemed to be pretty lazy and when he got the puck thats when he turned it on, thats what i noticed playing vs him and also watching him. Lakeville should move up and play A if they have kids that use to play varsity. There are JGA teams that have kids that have never played varsity and lakeville has what 3-5 kids that used to?
