Give a shout out for the guys your routing for or think have a good chance at making the top 10.

I picked out 15 names off the voting list. I think the eventual winner should come off this list.

F -
Ryan Stoa, Minnesota
Garrett Roe, St. Cloud State
Jacques Lamoureux, Air Force Academy
Carter Camper, Miami
Bryan Leitch, Quinnipiac
Chad Rau, Colorado College
Aaron Palushaj, Michigan
Justin Fontaine, Minnesota-Duluth
James van Riemsdyk, New Hampshire
Colin Wilson, Boston University

D -
Jamie McBain, Wisconsin
Chay Genoway, North Dakota

G -
Ben Scrivens, Cornell
Zane Kalemba, Princeton
Jordan Pearce, Notre Dame

My top three would be:

Ryan Stoa, UofM
What a horse at both ends of the rink... #6 in Scoring... #5 Strength of Schedule (SOS) in country... Top 3 in Goals... PP & SH performer... Captain, leader, hammer... Coming off ligament reconstruction last year...

Ben Scrivens, Cornell
GAA (#1) 1.18... Save % (#1) 0.956... Big Red ranked #1 in Pairwise... #3 in rankings... SOS is very low, ranked #27 in country, ECAC is not a strong conference... Cornell has only scored 44 goals in 17 games, so Scrivens wins close, low scoring games for Big Red, w/ only 1 loss...

Jordan Pearce, Notre Dame
GAA (#4) 1.56... Save % (#5) 0.936 Irish ranked #1 in rankings... #3 in pairwise... SOS is very low, ranked #34 in country, CCHA is not a strong conference from midpoint to bottom... Notre Dame does score goals, so team not as reliant on goaltending as Cornell is...

Honorable Mention
McBain, Sconny; van Riemsdyk, New Hampshire; Wilson, BU...

IMO: I do not think that that the Hobey voters pay much attention to the smaller schools and their top scorers, such as Jacques Lamoureux, Air Force Academy & Bryan Leitch, Quinnipiac, because of their strength of opponents night in and night out... it must be said though, that they are having very good seasons, not saying that...

I don't see Jordan Schroeder (MN) on your list, and despite missing some games for WJC, he is up top in scoring, and because of his skills, could take votes from Stoa... May want to keep an eye on the young freshman as the season progresses... just might sneak up on some honors lists at end of season...

The only way a frosh is going to win it is if he does something unbelievable on the year. Schroeder has been good so far but not THAT good.

Still a bit early for me to judge. I'd like to see how things are going in mid to late Febraury and then assess the candidates.

You are correct on both fronts... A freshman is a huge longshot (Paul Kariya, only frosh), and it is too early...

Just throwing my thoughts out to get some talk moving. I also really like what I have seen in Schroeder so far, maybe next year before we lose him to the NHL... I think he may make the "considered" list by year's end though...

Schroeder isn't even on the voting list, which includes A LOT of names. So I didn't include him, I thought about it though. As far as guys from Air Force and teams like Quinnipiac...two years ago, Eric Ehn from Air Force, landed in the final three.

Justin Fontaine is my dark horse. 3rd in the nation in scoring, and UMD is playing well. If they keep it up, there is no reason Fontaine shouldn't be a finalist, at least.

Ten finalists:

Louie Caporusso, F, Michigan
Matt Gilroy, D, Boston University
Chad Johnson, G, Alaska
Zane Kalemba, G, Princeton
Jacques Lamoureux, F, Air Force
Jamie McBain, D, Wisconsin
David McIntyre, F, Colgate
Viktor Stalberg, F, Vermont
Brad Thiessen, G, Northeastern
Colin Wilson, F, Boston University

Where are....
Bryan Leitch, Quinnipiac - 59 points (8 more than anyone in nation)
Jordan Pearce, Notre Dame - Best GAA in nation, 8 SHO, 28 wins, 5th in SV%
Garrett Roe, SCSU - 48 points
Ryan Stoa, Minnesota - 46 points, 3rd in nation in goals
Aaron Palushaj, Michigan - 47 points, one of the best players in country

I don't really get McIntyre from Colgate getting in. There are pleanty of players more deserving than Stalberg and Gilroy as well.

My final three:
1) Brad Thiessen, Northeastern
2) Colin Wilson, Boston University
3) Louie Caporusso, Michigan
