Overlooked Goaltender (Eden Praire?)
I didn't watch the medals being handed out or the all tourney selection, but I sure think the goaltender from Eden play a HUGE part in their success. He stopped many great opportunities in all three games.
Or did I miss something.

I think you missed something. He looked good but with a defense like that, I coulda played in net for EP. The Taters got very few rebound shots - EP defense cleared almost all of 'em.

Yes his D was good but he looked solid especially for a kid that played bantams the year before? not sure about that but either way he is only a sophomore. I was also surprised to see that he didn't make the All-Tourney team considering he won and got a shutout in the championship (though only because they took the goal back and ruined the game just like last year when Roseau got their taken back against Hill). I thought the Moorhead goalie was deserving he looked good this weekend but was very surprised the Cretin goalie got it. I watched his warmups before all the games and he would stand 3 feet out on top of the crease and couldn't stop a beach ball. I know that was just warmups and not the game but he looked fundamentally bad and possibly just be succeeding under a good team.

For the Love of the Game.
EP's defense was what got them there and helped them win the trophy. Ford did fine in net, but definitely not one of the top goalies in the tournament. He'll be there again I'm sure with the talented team around him, so he'll get his chance.
Nice to see the All Tournament team represent many of the teams and quality players in the tournament. Too bad they choose it so late (but understandable) that many of the other players can't be there for the award. I'm sure no one would want to intentionally miss out on being there in person to receive it.
I think we'll see and hear a lot about EP in the next couple years. Not a fan of EP but they played well and do appear to be a close knit team. Congratulations to them and to Moorhead who fought a good battle.

He can hit the guy in the neutral zone with a lazer as well as many D-men I know. It sure speeds up the return rush. Can't believe he wasn't credited with any assists this year. Maybe as a sophomore they were keeping him on a shorter leash. Sure is fun to watch.Mr.swampdonky wrote:He plays the puck AMAZING. Who else saw that pass where it went to the other blue line; tape to tape?
