The reason the Eden Prairie goalie was not on the all-tourney team is because the ballots are collected after the 1st period of the championship game (as another post pointed out). There is often a player that gets left off the team because of this.

I do wonder how the AA Tournaments top scorer was left off, Anders Lee with 9pts, but the Hornets did lose..... :?
Happened last year too. Ben Goff from Woodbury was the AA tourney's leading scorer, but was not ont he All-Tourney team. I thought he didn't get it just because they lost in the first round, but then this year Everson and Baker get on it having lost in the 1st round. I don't get it.
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!

If anyone thinks Herb Brooks wouldn't pick Nick Leddy to be on his team out of anyone else in the tournament needs to open their eyes. Leddy deserves this award.
That's probably the worst post I have ever saw, and I hope Leddy would be embarassed by it. From the first game against Edina, #14 was always in there fighting. I noticed him and I don't know much about hockey. He never let up on his backchecks and it paid off for him in the Edina game. Throughout the tournament he was a hard worker and always in there fighting. Just look at the size difference between him and leddy and you know Trent must have a big heart. He just kept on coming. Congrats to him, and as a Mom, I know his Mom couldn't be prouder from where she is watching.
First of all I'm not taking anything away from Trent Johnson, he played great and will represent this award well. My point is, not that Leddy is the best player on the ice (I know how the award works), just that he outworked and outhustled every player he came up against in every game this tournament and I never saw him let up and let someone else take the puck and I never saw him not put another player to the ice in order to win a one on one battle. In the Benilde game in the section semifinals he never missed a shift despite being at about 70% with a major leg contusion. Also, I don't see why Leddy would be embarrased by my previous post. I'm complementing him on his extraordinary effort for ths entire season. And the point you made about giving the award to Johnson because he is shorter than Leddy is just about the worst argument I have ever heard. If being a little guy is what the award is about than they should stop giving it out. I have made my point and I think Leddy should have recieved the award. Again, I am taking nothing away from Trent Johnson, he is a great player and will represent the award well.

I believe that Leddy has a lot of talent and definitely deserves Mr. Hockey as the best player in state but if you watched any of EP's games in this tournament you realize that he doesnt have to grind or work as hard as other players because he is so talented. I think that Trent Johnson was very deserving of the award and I believe Herbie wouldnt leave him off his team either.
